I still can’t figure out why the GOP Establishment is afraid of Newt Gingrich. He IS the GOP Establishment for God’s sake.

Gingrich ISN'T the GOP establishment. They are drifting toward socialism and have been for some time. Moderates HATED Newt as Speaker. He pushed them to the right. They balanced the budget 4 years running. He had a budget for 1998 that cut $1 Billion. They rebelled. Republicans had not had power for 40 years and they had NO idea what to do with it. They still don't. They want to be LIKED.

Revenge. It was the GOP Establishment who cut bait on him and pushed him overboard after all the bogus charges. The GOP-E has no spine. Period.

I think I'll buy some stock in duct tape. If Newt is the nominee, the GOP-E will be needing a lot of it soon for their butt cheeks.

No, Newt is not a Northeast RINO, and that’s who thinks they run the GOP.
The so called Rockefeller Republicans. They are the RINO equivalent of Limosine Liberals. They have absolutely no interest in Comservatism. My only fear is they may decide they’d prefer four more years of FUBO than have their power taken from them. The naked interference in the nomination process thus far shows you what they are all about. They think it’s “their party,” and conservatives to them just as the blacks are to the RATs.

They don’t want Newt as top dog. In this way he is definitely like Churchill was in the 1930s. You know it was Labour who sided with Churchill, especially after Hitler invaded Russia. The Tory majority never trusted him. He was a pal of Lloyd George — a fellow who, BTW, reminds me a lot of Newt.
