GREENVILLE, S.C. — Newt Gingrich was confronted by a black man outside Tommy's Country Ham House, who questioned him on his comments on having poor children work as janitors.
The man said what Gingrich was asking for amounted to a "new form of slavery" and would force young African Americans to drop out of school.

Here's some facts about Newt promoting education reform (that's a GOOD and needed thing) ....
Yes, Newt should have known better that 0 is a total liar and owned by the Teacher's unions that would never let this happen. But what Newt was promoting, the increase of and financial support for charter schools, was right and conservative.
Condi Rice is incompetent. Another affirmative action appointment like Powell. And she has sucked up to Obama big time. Read the books by Rumsfeld and Cheney and you will see how poorly she performed.
Pandering?! Seriously? Newt will tell them all in person what he told Juan on national TV. Newt is not afraid of the race-baiters and is willing to debate them, which is surely not pandering to them.

Sharpton is a tax cheat who owes the government $2.6 million. And he should be in jail for his role as a racial arsonist in the Freddie's Fashion Mart incident.
Gingrich is supposed to be running for President not debater in chief.

You've got to do a lot of selective forgetting and revisionist history with Newt.
Btw, Michael Steele when head of RNC was thoroughly vilified on this forum when it was rumored RNC made a donation to Sharpton. It was never documented or proven, but that didn't make any difference because of the opportunity to bash Steele.
Thank you, but there is an audience out there for the Marjoe-type of show he puts on. He's good at the sound bite, the catchy phrase, whatever red meat will appeal to the audience of the moment and sway the crowd EMOTIONALLY.
For all that Newt poses as a professor or intellectual, his effect is emotional and he knows it and he works it.
Now that I could endorse. Otherwise, Newt has no business meeting with anyone. He should have responded that he is a bit busy winning the Republican nomination so the man who approached him could get a job — and a life.
Isn’t it odd that when he said “poor children” everyone on the left assumed it was poor BLACK children he was speaking of instead of any other race? I mean never mind that we are on the 3rd and 4th generation where everyone in the family has always been on welfare and no one has ever known anyone who has had a job.Newt told the truth there are many out there that know no one who have ever worked....the left is stuck on race.
Sharpton won't shut up until the day he dies. Maybe not even then.
I used to do that too and it allowed me to keep the $$ my Mom gave me for lunch.Back then lunch was only .75 but after 5 days that $3.50 added to my $5 allowance gave me a little extra. If I save 2 weeks I really had a lot of money for a 12yo!
