That is an altered headline being used by the same Romney and Paul groups in South Carolina as we speak doing robocalls claiming Newt voted for Brady Bill...which he did not.

Newt along with many GOP including Fred Thompson and others did indeed vote for the domestic violence offender gun ban amendement 4 years after Brady which is a topic worth arguing over here

but he attempted to have several anti gun measures reversed..all of which died in the Senate

once again..anyone with less than half their brain tied behind their back knows Newt has a gun record exponentially better than Mitts

Paul has best gun record...shame he is unhinged in his world view.

Santorum not too shabby but after tomorrow will be an also ran

Let’s find a candidate who has much lower unfavorability numbers before it’s too late.

And who would you suggest? Ron Paul?

Give it up. Obama can not run as a republican.

When did Mitt start winning elections?

In his almost 20 years of running, Mitt won once, he lost his state party seats during his term, leaving the state party shrunken and damaged, he wanted to run for reelection but couldn’t because he was such a lousy Governor and his own polling said no way.

Mitt had to slink out of office with 34% approval and the seat has been Democrat ever since.

Romney then lost to two guys with no money or organization, things that Romney had in spades. Romney breaks spending records in his losing campaigns, and has a big manpower machine, and establishment support, Mitt spent 110 million in 2008.

Obama would squash Mitt Romney. That is why the media is fighting to make sure that it is Mitt.

None of these things about Newt bother me in the least.

He is the only candidate that I will continue to support, the only man we have that can get the very critical and difficult job done.

Go Newt Go......

If only more people would do what you suggest and I have been doing since the Clinton years - don’t watch CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC. Last night I went to CNN online to watch the debate, the first time I had watched CNN since I can’t remember when.

The numbers continue to fall and I dream of the day when they aren’t enough people watching to keep them on the air.

I HATE Obama more than America hates Newt.

Mine is 1000 times more volatile than it was 4 years ago.

The media is fighting to make it Gingrich or Romney. Santorum wins Iowa and they still ignore him. Right now Obama beats Gingrich and Romney wins by a few points.

Maybe Gingrich can get enough exposure to turn it around, but it will be very tough, the media is starting with a very negative impression they have planted in the public’s mind, especially with independents. The media will not help Gingrich change people’s minds. Romney is starting with independents far ahead of where Gingrich is.

What are the odds those a-holes on Saturday Night Live this weekend don’t have a skit where one of their actresses is made up like Gingrich’s ex-wife and they make Gingrich look like a free-love swinger. That’s what we are up against and the country is filled with morons who vote and let the media shape their view of candidates.

You keep pretending that the media does not want Romney to win. The media does not want Gingrich to win.

You also ignored the facts about Romney being unable to win elections, and the one time he did win, he destroyed his state party, lost the seat to the Democrats ever since, was the 48th ranked Governor in popularity and left with 34% approval.

He loses, and he was dismal the one time he had to govern.

Why was his ass sitting on a couch with one of the most evil women in America in present day?

How long ago was that? Okay, so newt is an untouchable to you. Who then do you suggest?

Ron Paul? Santorum? Cain? Perry? ... and no McCain will not do either.

Or are you just planning NOT to vote at all? A whole bunch of smart people did that in the last presidential election.... an we ended up with OBAMA AND HIS TWO SCOTUS appointments. So those "non" votes were really Obama votes.

Is that you? If not, so who bright eyes would you select as your dream candidate? Share you wisdom with us. Please....

Just a difference of opinion, the media has spent over 20 years trashing Gingrich. They know that right now his popularity with independents is way behind Romney. Most people are indifferent to Romney, but many people despise Gingrich.

They destroyed every conservative that had a better chance to beat Obama and are left with the two GOP they wanted - the two they feel are easiest to beat. One a grumpy conservative that many independents dislike, the other a moderate the GOP conservatives dislike and can clearly be portrayed as one of those evil rich guys.

I remember when this circus started and I thought anyone but Romney, Gingrich or Paul beats the socialist incompetent. Bachman was my first choice.

So both Romney and Gingrich will give Obambi a chance, I just think Gingrich is the one they want, they one they think will be the easiest to beat.

Santorum has better positives than Newt or Mitt. He represents the perspective of most Americans. He represents my positions closer than any candidate in the race. It looks like it’s going to be a long, drawn out fight. At least the inevitability of Mittens is turning out to be about as strong as the inevitability of toofytfruity rudy was in 2008. Now we can move on to the real issues.

He will lose at least 5% in the women's vote over 2008 McCain.

Really wise one? Do you realize that if all those who unwisely did not vote or cast wasted votes, had voted... we would not have had obama!

Obama gave us sodaminor and kegal and that has just about tilted the court to the liberals. This next president will get to appoint 2 or 3 new members to SCOTUS.

That will be the end of our republic as we have known it. Or is that your plans?

Your Romney pitch is weak, and your nonsense about them not wanting Romney leaves you pretty alone in that theory that you claim to believe.

The man is proven unelectable, and was a proven loser when he did hold that one term position, he was more than bad, he was incredibly destructive and left wing.

If the danger from Obama to our country wasn’t so great, I’d say lets just wait and get a true conservative in 2016. But so much damage has been done. More than we know. He must go now.

I will support whoever wins the republican nomination.

Your hatred of Romney is undermining everything you. You are clearly not reading what I am saying, or just hell bent on labelling me as a Romney supporter. I’m not a Romney supporter, Romney and Gingrich were the two people I didn’t want. I started with Bachman and after she left the race, I was drawn to Santorum. I’m still hoping for a miracle and Santorum wins the nomination. I don’t see if it, the media is getting what they want - Gingrich and Romney, the easiest for the Alinksy socialist to defeat for many of the reasons people have posted here. They both have a lot of negatives.

My argument is sound. At this moment Gingrich has the biggest job, trying to turn a very low popularity amongst independents around. Romney has a much better rating with the larger public. I dare you to go out on the street tomorrow and stop 100 strangers and ask them what they think of Gingrich and Romney. There is no doubt Gingrich will get a much higher negative rating. Though it shouldn’t matter, Romney looks more youthful and photogenic. It matters to a lot of morons who vote.

Either one of them can win or lose, right now I believe Romney has a better chance. If Gingrich wins, I send him money and support him. He will be a good President, if he can beat the media and Obama.

I agree with you. If it didn’t matter, I would prefer Gingrich over Romney. Run a true conservative in 2012, a guy who will stand up to media I hate. Maybe he can win, if he didn’t we could run another conservative in 2016, one who doesn’t have as much baggage as Gingrich.

But if we lost in November we are in some serious dodo.

I don’t hate anyone, I want to stop Mitt Romney, a man who is against everything that I care about, from becoming the leader of my movement.

You are a Romney supporter, and you are devoting yourself to attacking Gingrich, we have been dealing with that carbon copy, romneybot strategy until we are sick of it.

You promote Romney and attack Gingrich.

Romney must be defeated. Gingrich is our only choice and our only hope.
