As a private citizen I sympathize with the officer and agree with you. As a retired policeman, I totally disagree with her action. Never take crime personally was my motto and it served me well for 30 years. Doing something like that in this country would cost us the confession, at a minimum.
The muslime is smiling because he knows he will be released in a few years when other muslimes capture an Israeli soldier.

Of course. The military and the Police in Israel have their feet held to the fire. This was a huge no no and this officer will pay for her offense. The problem is that the man should be executed for what he did. He does not even deny it. They don't even need him for intelligence. The man just needs to die; preferably by a firing squad. Immediately. That would take the smile off his face forever.

The problem comes from the top, not the cop. She is only human.
