VAN SUSTEREN:

But I'm curious, in all seriousness, is there any appropriate time in your mind that you be asked that question, you know, about your ex-wife?
GINGRICH: Look...
VAN SUSTEREN: She's going on television. She's making some accusation. Is it a fair question? And if so, when should it be asked of you?
GINGRICH: Sure, look -- look, if voters ask it or if you get asked it in a normal press conference, you just answer it because you're running for president and you owe people a candid answer. You don't particularly want to get in fights that involve 20-year-old incidents.
You know, it wasn't true, and I'm happy to say it wasn't true. And we have five or six people who know us at the time, all of whom are willing to say it's not true. And we offered those to the media.
I just thought to open a national presidential debate at that kind of personal level, with such nonsense -- and the audience -- you could tell the audience agreed totally that it was just nonsense....
VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Well, I'm -- I'm actually -- I'm always concerned about the fairness aspect of this stuff, and what caught my attention, besides the fact that you -- John King, my old colleague, hardly had any skin left on him -- was -- was the -- you...

GINGRICH: Well, after a great deal of conversation, they finally agreed to take my two daughters, who you know, Kathy Lubbers and Jackie Cushman, and they are going to appear on the show tonight. I think they're doing "Good Morning America" tomorrow. But it was only after a great deal of conversation.
We have a number of other people who were personal friends, eyewitnesses at the time.

The mainstream communist democrat media aren’t accustomed to people fighting back against their “nonsense”.
Woooo!
Go Newt, kick a## and take names!
Santorum is toasted, Perry threw you his support...Mitt is the walking dead. :-)
(Until his shameful performance last night, I actually supported and defended the worm otherwise known as Rick Santorum)
One of the few time I have regretted not having television. But, the audio was awesome enough.
Newt handles this masterfully. He’s big league after all.
It was a beautiful sight My FRiend! :-)
I think Santorum is a good guy - he's just not quite ready for prime time.
Huh? Did I miss a debate last night? Inquiring minds need to know.
Newt is like a pro baseball power hitter. He swings for the fence every time. When he whiffs it’s really bad but sometimes he parks it, making everyone forget about the whiffs.
It was more of a blood bath, really.
:)
Thanks. One advantage of audio only is concentrating on the content and delivery of the candidates. One thing that struck me last night was how fast Romney talks sometimes.
Maybe it’s just me and my old fashioned ways, but the snake-oil personna is stromg with him - yet another reason he would flop against Obama.
⇓Size TV!
Not sure which of the 2 is worse.
You need to at least see the first and last 5 minutes or so of the debate...those are Newt’s highlights :-)
True.
I mentioned how fast Romney talks last week....I never noted it before!! Snake Oil Salesman for SURE!!
Thanks for the info. I’ll go looking.
Moot talks fast so you won’t notice that he’s not really saying anything.
Carnival barkers and infomercial hucksters everywhere envy his skill.
With audio only, you miss Moot’s dismissive eye rolling, arrogant smirks and nervous flop-sweating.
It’ll all be YouTube soon, I’m sure.
:)
CNN picks up where ABC left off, the reelection campaign...
What did Santorum do?
