The idea that Newt Gingrich could rally sufficient numbers of "Reagan Democrats," independents, and moderate Republicans to form a winning national coalition is laughable

After the debate the other night, and the standing ovation for Newt - people remarked they had never seen a standing ovation at a presidential primary debate.

Indeed, Frank Luntz said he had never seen one in the 16 years he's been covering them.

Tonight, we saw two more.

I think he could 'rally' the whole county.

If he chooses the man he mentioned last spring for his running mate - the county will be electrified...

Newt Gingrich/Col. Allen West would set the country on fire.

Playing to a friendly conservative audience is a far cry from resonating with millions of people who are not ideologues of the Right. Obama will sweep to a huge victory if Newt is our nominee.
