Newt did a good job of distracting — but he does have a character problem here. Let’s not pretend otherwise. He says he has changed.

It is called repentance.

The race is going to come down to Newt and Romney. I’ll take a man with character flaws over a fraud every time.

“but he does have a character problem here. Let’s not pretend otherwise.”

I don’t think most people are pretending otherwise. I think most people recognize that he has the guts and the political savvy to be able to change the narrative in the political arena and put the left and the media on the defense. This is crucial and a very long in coming. Reagan was able to do it, which is why the left hated him so much. This is war, literally war for the heart and soul, and possibly the survival of our country. I am very much warming to Newt, because irrespective of his private life he is speaking the truth in the public arena.

We live in a society in which multiple former governors are in or were in prison, another recent governor was just found to have fathered a child with his housekeeper, a siting President had oral sex with an intern in the White House, a Vice-Presendential candidate who almost got elected is now awaiting trial for funneling campaign funds to hide his mistress and their child, and so on and so on. That’s not to mention all the horrible things that are happening in sports and the entertainment industry.

All of that doesn’t excuse Newt, but irrespective of whether one is a Christian, has other beliefs, or is an agnostic or atheist, each of us has to decide whether a person can change and whether or not we can forgive them. I’m taking him at his word, and I’m choosing to not judge. I hope people will afford me the same.

The question I have, are you free of any sins or any wrongs? Like Jesus said let who has no sin cast the first stone...

Just saying..

King David and the Apostle Peter also had some character flaws, as I recall. Ditto for Winston Churchill and General Patton.

Distracting? Obama just destroyed maybe 20,000 jobs this week, jeopardized our long range energy security, and gave classified missile intel to the Russians today, and John King is babbling about some disgruntled skank's twenty year old resentment.

Now I know you are probably about twelve years old, judging by the infantile level of judgment reflectded in your comment, but try to think like an adult for five seconds--who is distracting who from what?

What problem? and are your planning to vote at all?
The story has been refuted by his daughters and the time line does not support the X wife's story.
The ONLY problem is for those LOOKING TO SEE THE NEGATIVES of Newt, usually Obama fans, and Romney/Paul fans... or those not looking to vote Republican at all.

So where do you fit?

By the time this thread ends, you're going to envy John King for getting off easier than the beat down YOU'RE getting tonight!

(LOOKS GOOD ON YA, LOL!)

There was no distracting, the fact the question was not appropriate for a Pres. debate.

The MSM can't even find out about Obama's college records, but every GOP candidate comes under a magnifying glass.

The question was for one reason, to get religious conservatives to vote for Santourm and get Romney the win.

I’m a conservative and would love for our candidate to be SQUEAKY clean at all levels.

However, his marital indiscretions are his burden to carry, he has not hidden them, he has answered too many questions relating to them and not enough relating to how he would officiate as President.

The reality is, Newt is a fiscal conservative, has a vision, and can hopefully get the that stinking, useless, neutered republican establishment in Washington to start acting like they give a damn about this country and undo what that socialist, treasonous son of a bitch 0bama and his minions have done to our country.

This is what our country needs right now, not some underhanded crack about morality and insinuating that other candidates are somehow more moral.

We already know about his infidelities, come up with something new.
