That is the fault of the company for repeatedly ignoring the complaints submitted under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

The company is at fault for what you say, But they are 0% responsible for the idiotic actions of the Federal Justice Department. They can only be held account for what they do, not someone else.

If Wells Fargo Bank laundered money for some drug dealers and the Justice Department seized all the assets of everyone who had an account with the bank, I guess the Feds could argue that was Wells Fargo's fault that the government seized all the assets of honest customers, but it would not be correct.

Each person is responsible for their own actions, and cannot be held account for the actions of others that claim that whatever they do response to those actions is justified. If that were true, they could have dropped a bomb on Auckland, NZ and claimed it was the company's fault for stealing content.

It is the responsibility of the property owner to defend his property. It is the responsibility of society to defend the property of individuals, but this responsibility has limits. It is not the responsibility of society to protect the property of individuals to an extent that requires the destruction of other individual’s property and freedom.

People should not expect to make money at the expense of the rest of society, unless they are providing equitable value in return.

The RIAA can go get screwed.

I just wonder, why were the possessions of the executives seized? I mean, the execs weren’t just arrested, but they were subjected to their property being seized and taken away. Unless they are druglords, that is completely unneccesary.
