Let me ask you this hypothetical. What if Newt wins SC with over 30% and Santorum comes in with less than 15% and 4th place. What should Santorum do?

Santorum should drop out and endorse Newt after S. Carolina. Staying in after such a loss will just split the conservative vote and allow Romney to win.

My opinion is that anyone who comes in 4th at this point should drop out. If that’s Santorum, it will be clear that he shot his wad in Iowa. I think he’ll finish 3rd, but if he should come in 4th he needs to take a hint.

He won’t be able to spend a year and visit every county In the remaining states, after all.
