I could not beleive Rick was going along with the obviously false meme that Newt was somehow unstable. This is why he is not Presidential material.A real leader would not allow himself to be put in that position, and certainly not stay in it once it became obvious. All I could think of is that he certainly cut himself off from serious consideration in a Newt administration by being such a backstabber.

As for the “Newt got fired from the Speakership” crap, Yes Newt made slackers in the Congress very antsy. I like that.
Those guys that got Newt out gave us two utter failures to replace Newt, Bob Livingstone and Denny Hastert, both of the “Don’t Make Democrats Mad” school of thought. Result:Conservatives got rolled EVEN WHEN we had a majority!
