“He says that while we cannot judge those outside the Church, we can judge those who are inside,”

I am Christian and love talking about it, and - in my grandious mind - spreading the word that you should not judge.

Recently, I did an entire rereading of the entire new testament and if I would do cliff notes they would be simple. Jesus himself made it simple imho.

I do not see though, where Jesus gave an out to judge people?

It might be in the acts?

Of course we can see people we think are erring from the path and try to help them, but that is a far cry from judging them.

It is infact what I am doing now :)

Lutheran missionary work XD

Take care, and I love your passion BenKenobi.

It is strong with this one :)

Take care and have a great weekend.

1. Love your neighbour (even love your enemy) and love your God

2. Do not judge

3. Be humble

I have to admit that as a extremist Lutheran I do not put that much emphasis on the acts and everything coming after the gospels...

BTW. I have this discussions on a weekly basis, because my dad is a Santorum backer.

Personally I think Santorum is at his best when he does his blue collar appeal. His speech after the Iowa caucuses were excellent and moving, and so was his debate ending last night.

God loves a working man as many country songs say.

But, I know little of the catholic church, even though it is the largest growing religuous community in my country. Thanks to Poles :)

1 Corinthians 5:9-1e

“I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

“I have to admit that as a extremist Lutheran I do not put that much emphasis on the acts and everything coming after the gospels.”

I am personally amused that a Catholic is teaching scripture to a Lutheran. ;)

Again, if Newt were not a Catholic, I would say, fine. You are not in the Church - you cannot be expected to hold onto rules that do not apply to you. The understanding of marriage as a sacrament - that is the Church, and not the Baptists. That’s the easy thing and the hard thing about the Church. You can be forgiven of your sins - but you have to get out of them. The Church isn’t going to go and say, look. Your Christian marriage is invalid. No, they are going to say, look, you need to make things right with her and your family.

I had plenty that I had to leave behind myself and I am still working at this.
