Perry is doing right by himself, right by Texas, and right by the country. Thank you, Governor Perry.
Couldn't agree more; takes a man to do what he is doing. Wouldn't mind seeing him turn up in the next administration, if Zero is defeated.
Absolutely a class act by Gov. Perry.
I felt bad for him after Iowa, when he went home to “reassess”, and he was flat-out told by his financial backers that they “didn't give money so he could drop out before even one Southern Primary,” and they basically forced him to stay in the race.
I can't tell you how much respect he just earned from me, for doing this, before the South Carolina Primary, DESPITE what his big-money backers wanted him to do, what they pressured him to do. He did the right thing, and basically told his money backers to stuff it - this is what is right for the country. Perry knew it, and he did the right thing.
Good job Gov. Perry. And THANK YOU Gov. Perry!!

Amen! As Rush says, Perry is a patriot and a class act ... . I think the timing was just too much off when he had his back surgery and on pain meds and was immediately in debates. Tough .. very tough if you're in pain and the meds mess with your persona. Healing more and waiting it out a month more, I think he could've still entered a bit later this year and had more impact.
I didn't know THE amazing and intrepid hero, Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, was on his rooting team. Wish he'd been more outspoken, visible and TELEvised on the trail. God bless them both. Rick, you did yourself proud .. at the end, when the memory of your suspension speech and classiness today will linger with good after effects. And you supported the RIGHT man!
Excerpt from Rush today:
"Rick Perry, a lot of people have piled on the guy. I think he's a class act. I have always liked Rick Perry. I'll tell you a story again.
I don't know if I've mentioned this. Yeah, I think I've mentioned this on the air. I was asked to do a fundraiser for a congressional candidate in Texas, and I don't do very many of those.
It happened to be a special occasion, and it happened to be during the time that the Texas governor's race was going on and Kay Bailey Hutchison was opposing Perry at this point in time -- and when the word got out that I was gonna be doing this fundraiser, people called me and said, "Hey, be on the lookout!
Rick Perry's gonna show up; he gonna trying to get in a punch of pictures with you has a gonna trying to make it look like you are endorsing him for a governor run in Texas, and don't... You can't let it happen! You make sure! Don't do it! He's trying to come at you!"
I said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Who's behind this? So what if Rick Perry shows up?"
"He's gonna try to use you!"
Okay, so I showed up. I was committed to show up. I got there and, lo and behold, Governor Perry was there -- and simply because I've been told that, I'm a little leery. I don't know him; I'd never met him, and like all of us big-time stars, we are very much concerned about being used. So you're always on guard for that, and he didn't. But he did ask to introduce me. He was an invited guest of the candidate. Everything was classy. I mean, he didn't crash the event."
Yes, thank you very much Rick!
