At any rate, I have found out the answer to my questions from others who did not belittle my question in doing so.
The question has nothing to do with ME, caww. It was a legitimate question that a whole lot of Christians have asked, and will be asking, and you had better be prepared to answer the question without including condemnation of the Christians asking it.
A whole lot of us believe that morality is a big issue when looking at a presidential candidate because morality is a big issue Scripturally.
As I said, others provided the answers, and I have thanked them here.
I don't agree morality is a "huge" issue for most Christians though it's a plus if they happen to adhere to good morals....But the fact Iran's ready to blow us up...which if they do morality isn't going to matter at all and other perilous happenings occurring that IMO there are far bigger issues a candidate better know how to address and make the changes needed to stop the trajectory of this country.......International leaders are jockeying around and threatening another World War....and we're one of their targets...so we just differ on what we see as foremost in a candidate.
Additionally... We are broke...what will morals matter when one can't give their child an education...or their home is in jeopardy of being lost? Not to mention food on the table...15 million on food stamps cannot be sustained much longer....Seniors are concerned of their checks and their heath...again morals won't be playing much in those cases.
It's not that morals aren't important....it's that we have 'bigger problems' then if or not a candidate has 'repented enough' to satisfy a few who seem to set the bar for that beyond the throne room of God...which is what it seems some have done....in 11 years now Newt's been "clear" of that history...so why make more of it than what needs to be?
As I said, and gave you information where a pastor spoke about Newt..and he even referred to others who could attest to that of Newt being a changed man.....with links....your need was apparently to hear more of the same as you seem now to have accepted that yes, Newt has changed.
