Ted Cruz is surging.
Ted Cruz has climbed 6 points to 18% in a new poll, putting him a solid second place in the 8-candidate field. Meanwhile, the frontrunner -- Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst -- has dropped 5 points to 36%. Cruz has cut Dewhurst's lead from 29 points in September down to just 18 points today.
This is great news, but it's even better than it looks. If Dewhurst fails to get 50% of the vote in the April 3rd primary, he will be forced into a run-off with the second place finisher. And if Cruz makes it into the run-off, we believe he will win the two-man race.

I am about sick of Jim Demint
Why is Demint so farking concerned with Tx politics?
Why does he love Raphael Cruz? over Dewhurst?
Frankly, I prefer Elizabeth Ames Jones.
Unfortunately she switched to Tx Senate race instead of US.
Because Dewhurst is a lying pol and Cruz gives every evidence of being a reliable conservative. DewHurst is KBH in trousers.
If you aren’t part of the Dewhurst campaign, you should know that Dewhurst and Straus have worked to undermine conservative legislation. Dewhurst, in a radio interview I conducted, told the listeners that he would oppose ANY new taxes in Texas. Subsequently, he supported the gross revenues abomination and a few years ago was talking about the possibility of adopting an income tax in Texas. There is more, but you should know that the Lt Gov in Texas has more power than the Gov and that we haven’t seen the deep spending cuts, the elimination of sanctuary cities, and other things that need to happen because of Dewhurst and, more recently, Straus.
I originally supported Dewhurst for Lt Gov, but I wouldn’t support him now for anything.
Unfortunately she switched to Tx Senate race instead of US.
Because she could see the writing on the wall. So did Michael Williams, and Roger Williams. Cruz is very impressive. I've met him several times. I was at a meeting with about 15 local Republican activists with Ted Cruz, and he talked for over an hour about his campaign organization and strategy without having to refer to any notes.
He said he was going to work to get conservatives elected in the Senate. Why have you had it with DeMint? And why dont you use the name that Ted goes by?
Of the three major players right now (Dewhurst, Leppert, Cruz) Dewhurst is probably the most liberal. He is pretty much a big government Republican.
Last I heard, Williams was running for Congress in Arlington. Is that still on? It would be nice to have a congressman who has worked on an Energy board that actually wants more energy.
That's all in flux due to the court case over redistricting.
LOL
