Many of these passing their judgement may want to revisit the following . . .
“Amazing Grace”
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That savd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relievd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believd!
Thro many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promisd good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who calld me here below,
Will be forever mine.
Amen!!! and thank you.
I receive a daily verse from www.thedailybibleverse.org
and today’s verse is:
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Romans 13:1 (NIV)
Todays commentary
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
This may seem like a difficult passage, but think of the time that Paul was writing it. The Roman Empire ruled with an iron fist, yet that was the environment where the church flourished. It seems that the gospel is not limited by a government or an economy. When we see that God can move in any system, we can submit ourselves to those systems even the ones that we disagree with.”
