NBC's Lauer Presses Chris Christie: Isn't Obama Class Warfare Really About 'Unfairness'?
Newsbusters ^ | 1/18/12 | Kyle Drennen

In an effort to once again run defense for Barack Obama, NBC's Today co-host Matt Lauer on Wednesday pushed New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to agree that the President's sustained effort to pit economic classes against one another is just a matter of fairness: "Talk to me about that word 'envy.' Because I asked Governor Romney about this last week as well....why is it envy as opposed to unfairness?"

As Lauer mentioned, he did ask Mitt Romney an almost identical question on the January 11 broadcast: "Do you suggest that anyone who questions the policies and practices of Wall Street and financial institutions, anyone who has questions about the distribution of wealth and power in this country is envious? Is it about jealousy or is it about fairness?"

On Wednesday, Christie defended use of the word "envy": "Well this is what the President is setting up. What he's trying to say is the American pie is finite. If you don't like the size of the piece you have, only government can take more pie away from somebody else and give you a little bit and government keeps the rest."

Christie should have hammered Lauer on what his salary is vs. the salaries of the janitors at NBC.

Bank Of America Rules

Obama walks into a branch of Bank of America to cash a check. As he approaches the teller, he says he says, “Good morning Ma’am, could you please cash this check for me?”

Cashier: “It would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID?”

Obama: “Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn’t think there was any need to. I am President Barrack Obama, the
president of the United States of America!!!”

Cashier: “Yes sir, I know who you appear to be, but with all the regulations and monitoring of the banks because of impostors and forgers plus the requirements of the Dodd/Frank legislation, etc., I must insist on seeing ID.”

Obama: “Just ask anyone here at the bank who I am and they will tell you. Everybody knows who I am.”

Cashier: “I am sorry sir, but these are the bank rules and I must follow them.”

Obama: “I am urging you, please, to cash this check.

Cashier: Look sir, this is what we can do: One day Tiger Woods came into the bank without an ID. To prove he was Tiger Woods, he pulled out his putter and made a beautiful shot across the bank into a cup. With that shot we knew him to be Tiger Woods and cashed his check.

Another time, Andre Agassi came in without ID. He pulled out his tennis racquet and made a fabulous shot whereas the tennis ball landed in my cup. With that shot we cashed his check.

So, what can you do to prove you are President of the United States?

Obama stood there thinking and thinking. He finally said; “Honestly my mind is a total blank....there is nothing that comes to my mind. I can’t think of a single thing. I have absolutely no idea what to do.

.
Cashier: “Will that be large or small bills, Mr. President?”

And it’s unfair that Lauer gets paid big bucks when there are so many smarter people in high school speical education classes that could do the job.

“Fairness”: I want the gummint to take money from rich people and give it to me. I want the money.

“Envy”: I want the gummint to take money from rich people so they can’t have it. I don’t care if I get any.

“Fairness” is theft. “Envy” is vandalism. That’s the difference.

http://www.showbizspy.com/article/230173/matt-lauer-25-million-today-show-pay-day-for-show-host-matt-lauer.html

MATT Lauer doesn’t really want to leave NBC’s Today show — he’s just holding out for a huge pay rise.

According to TMZ, Lauer — who already earns $17 million a year for hosting the program — wants his salary boosted to a whopping $25 million per year.

“Talk about Matt leaving Today is nothing more than a well-timed negotiating ploy,” a source said.

It’s also believed that Lauer’s co-host, Meredith Vieira, is eying an exit from the show. Vieira’s contract expires in September.

Reports in December claimed Lauer was planning to demand a salary increase by using his star power with NBC when he renegotiates his contract in 2012.

Yes, his salary vs janitorial staff salaries. But, why does Mr Lauer not just turn over his job to one of the youngsters just moving into the “profession.” Matt has been there for some time, now, and in fairness, it is time for someone else to ask the smarmy questions.
