"Heres the quotation thats getting the most attention:
Rick Santorum is a good man. He is a good father. He is a good Catholic. But he hasnt always been a good conservative. And I make exceptions with his vote for Sonya Sotomayor as a for instance. That is a really liberal jurist that he helped put on track to become a Supreme Court jurist back when he voted to allow her to be on the Appellate Court. I mean, she is pro-abortion, would be my estimation of that. I mean, Obama is a very liberal president and she is reflective of his philosophy. So, I mean, there were 29 conservatives that voted against her. People like Strom Thurmond and Rick voted for her. So the idea that, you know, he is a pure social conservative, this flies right in the face of it
On the fiscal side, Rick, he has a horrid record when it comes to earmarks and defending spending. The idea that you can vote for all those earmarks and call yourself a fiscal conservative is just ludicrous on its face. That is why we have a tea party today.
So like I said, good man, good father and husband, good Catholic, but not always a good conservative.

I don't add keywords on Perry threads. I will admit to the occasional keyword addition to a Paultard thread, but no penalty for that on FR, ever. FWIW, my issues have been mostly with Perry's campaign and some of his talking points, but I would have no problem supporting him in the general. He just is not showing any signs of traction, and his continued presence in the primary field plays right into Mitt's plans.
And I have debated the other candidates, don't admit otherwise. However, I don't function as a campaign operative. I know one when I see one. And to me the time for bashing the three conservatives is over, it's time to coalesce around the anti-Romney frontrunner after SC. And polling gives a pretty clear indication who that will be.
Nice try at distorting what I am doing, but you are good at that.
Like I can order Perry out of the race. Stupid talking point.
I CAN point out how Perry is now doing Mitt's bidding by continuing to split the conservative vote for him, while showing no surge in polling support only a few days before the SC primary - in a state that should be friendly for his candidacy.
So what will the excuses be if he trails way behind the anti-Romney frontrunner after the SC votes are tallied?
I happen to think Perry would make a fantastic president after watching him for years here in Texas but if he can't win it, we have to choose another. I think Newt is brilliant and would love to see him debate obozo, what a blast. I don't think Santorum is president material, he has good points as well but he just doesn't strike me as the best. I don't think we have seen the best but wherever he is he didn't show himself.
Santorum is a big fat fake. He is not a conservative beyond some social issues when he will sell out when the Rinos tell him to.
Then why are you continuing to bash him/his supporters? I’d swear that’s the only thing some of you Perry-bashers want to do! If he’s never been popular, and he’s doing so badly, why not just let him go?
What’s the matter, are you afraid that he just might get a surge in support somewhere down the line? (I admit it looks bad, if one is following the polls) Why not support whoever you want to support, and leave Perry and his supporters alone? But no, it’s too much fun antagonizing Perry’s supporters!
Some of you Perry-bashers are not doing yourselves and your candidate/s any favors. Surely you must realize your/their behavior says a lot more about Perry’s ‘bashers’, at least in my opinion. Maybe you don’t care about that, but there it is!
Well, guess what, bucko? Mitt Romney's only chance to win the nomination is to keep the conservative vote divided. As long as Perry stays in the race, he aids Mitt.
It's a pretty simple concept, but apparently well beyond the grasp of the average Perry supporter on FR.
Maybe Erick Erickson over at RedState can help you out, he's a Perry supporter who is saying this:
This will probably be the biggest news of the morning. Millions have wondered who Governor Palin would actually support. Shes making it crystal clear now.
On Fox News, Sarah Palin says if she lived in South Carolina shed vote for Newt.
The next big question is whether Governor Perry decides to depart the race before or after Saturday. And if he departs, will he endorse Newt Gingrich, who wrote the introduction to Governor Perrys book Fed Up!
With Palins endorsement, Rick Perry is now in a terribly awkward spot. If he departs before Saturday, he could be a hero for one of the non-Romney candidates. If he waits until Sunday and the race is close, as it appears to be, Rick Perry will rightly be remembered as the spoiler who handed Mitt Romney the nomination.
If Rick Perry and Sarah Palin both throw their lot behind Newt Gingrich, well, the Republican nomination might actually turn into a race instead of a coronation.
Well congratulations; you just proved my point! (laugh)I knew that reaction was coming! Bucko, eh? That seems to be the reaction if somebody criticizes the “Perry-bashers” on here! What exactly are you people afraid of; if Perry’s doing so badly, as you say?
I expect if he gets out of the race, he’ll do fine. He’ll lick his wounds, and go back to Texas. He may even support your fav. candidate. However, some of you are so intent on bashing Perry and his supporters on here, you give the impression you’re afraid he will win!
You do know your favorite candidate will win or lose on their own merit; they don’t need you to bash other candidates/supporters to prop them up? Besides they might need their help down the road!
But spare me the grumbling, growling and the name-calling. This ‘bucko’ isn’t impressed a bit! In fact, I’m expecting it, and it doesn’t change my mind. I do support Perry. If he doesn’t win, I’ll be sad, but I won’t fall apart over it. I’ll just find another to support, but it won’t be because of yours and others bully tactics!
So go find some flies that need their wings pulled off and quit bothering all of the electrons needed to send out your FR posts.
Wow, I’m not sure how to respond to your post! You really cheapened yourself w/those remarks! Oh, and by the way, that was a really, really weird thing to say about “finding flies that need their wings pulled off”, and the “quit bothering all the electrons needed to send out your “Free Republic” posts”, comments! By sending me this insulting post, you’re only degrading yourself even more! Do yourself a favor and stop, huh?
However, your post isn’t worth any further reply from me.
“Your getting your LaRaza groups mixed up”
What a response! LOL. You work so hard. Think it was understood?
Going after Santorum will not help Perry at all. He needs to remain focused on Romney and Obama, in that order. Defeat Romney first, Obama second.
