Too little too late?

This should be put into every mailbox in S.C..

However, the outcome is becoming more and more inevitable. We can thank Iowa and Rick Santorum for that.

Yes... Santorum fans will say that Newt should drop out. After all, Santorum won Iowa and beat Newt in N.H. and therefore has a more legitimate claim on being the sole remaining Not Romney.

Where that argument fails is the fact that Iowa and N.H. are now history and no longer matter a wit. What matters now is the current state of the race today. Right now Newt is down 10. Santorum is twice as far behind. Same story in Florida and many other states down the road. Santorum is HIGHLY unlikely to experience another last minute miracle (it would be a miracle for another miracle to happen). Newt's resources are weak at the moment (though Adelson will likely throw more money at his PAC should he do well). But if Newt's resources are weak, Santorum's is likely none existent. Add a multitude or other reasons, and Santorum will not be able to stop Romney.

Neither will get out before S.C.. Egos and personal ambition will prevent it. What this author is hoping to prevent will most likely come to past. Sad.

John has an argument, the same as in 2008.
We conservatives seem to be on the outside looking in
if the primary votes end up nominating Mittens.
I, for one, can’t figure out what they’re thinking.
Are they voting for John Tesh over, say, Dr. John, or what?

Isn't this a great country? We get to bicker and get punch drunk on our way to the ovens. This election is a sham.

“We can thank Iowa and Rick Santorum for that.”

Yeah, whupping Romney’s butt in Iowa will do that.

“Santorum fans will say that Newt should drop out.”

Oh? Can you quote one of us.

As I said before - best man wins. He’s going to have earn a win in South Carolina.

“Where that argument fails is the fact that Iowa and N.H. are now history and no longer matter a wit.”

Oh, so we’re supposed to ignore the fact that Newt was in 4th and 5th?

“Right now Newt is down 10”

Smells like loser to me. Why should I endorse a loser?

“Newt’s resources are weak at the moment”

Smells like loser to me. Why should I endrose a loser?

Why should I waste and money by endorsing someone who’s going to bail?

I doubt Perry will have a miracle either, but Newt might.

The race is shifty and the NotRomney NotPaul vote might coalesce by Saturday. I do hope we come out of SC with one candidate against Romney.

The author mistakenly assumes that conservatives owe and allegiance to the republican party.

Republicans deserve another 4 years of Obama if they make Romney the nominee.

The Establishment owns both parties! They wantObama just where he is.So they want the weakest, the most pliable opponent to face him in 2012. It is as simple as that!

Little wonder they literally expunged Herman Cain from his front runner status! He was a force to be reckoned with! Now they are trying to do the same thing to Newt, who could beat obama in any debate with both hands tied behind his back!

Wake up, America! Time is growing very short!

I won’t sell my soul. Romney is no conservative and if he is the nominee then the GOP needs to go the way of the Whigs.

I am a Christian first, Conservative second, and Republican third.

I will NEVER EVER EVER vote for Mitt Romney. I know way too much about him and his ilk to ever trust him.

if Romney wins, the conservative base will have chosen the guy behind Romneycare over the man behind the Contract with America, America's premier social conservative, and the best job-creating governor in America, all of whom would also be more electable.

The conservative base is addicted to Clear Channel. Just sayin'...

the outcome is becoming more and more inevitable.

Not at all. So Romney has 12 delegates out of 1,144 needed and now it's inevitable?

As a conservative, I cannot imagine a worse fate for America than four more years of unrestrained liberalism/socialism in our White House. That doesn’t mean that I’m willing to sell my soul for a liberal socialist who puts (R) after his name on the ballot to replace a liberal communist with a (D) after his name. I will vote in the primaries and in November, and I will vote to put the most conservative Congress possible in place, so that if we are stuck choosing between Romney and Obama, we will have some hope of surviving four more terrible years. As for my November vote for the White House, I will vote for a conservative. If I have to write in Palin/Newt or Cain/DeMint, I’ll do so, but I will not under any circumstances vote for Mitt. I understand the consequences of Obama holding power for four more years, but I also understand the consequences of a non-Obama cementing his socialist policies in place.
