Do you really think President Newt will jump on the global warming train? Really?

He's already on it and you would see it if you had the courage to look rather than believing what you want to believe. At the first Huckabee forum he said he would eliminate the EPA and replace it with an "Environmental Solutions Agency". And while you were deliberately looking away he expanded on the idea and has said he would give incentives for buying flex fuel vehicles and "incentivize" energy.

Gingrich’s list of energy policies includes providing incentives for flex fuel vehicles that can use corn-based ethanol rather than gasoline — a key issue for Iowa’s farm economy.

Newt Gingrich proposes abolishing EPA (January 2011)

Gingrich "claims" he opposed cap and trade but he seemed to like the idea when he did an 07 Frontline interview.

Asked if he supported George W. Bush’s campaign pledge in 2000 to set mandatory carbon caps, Gingrich responded:

"I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there's a package there that's very, very good. And frankly, it's something I would strongly support." he said.

He then went on to criticize Bush for backing off the pledge.

"If he had instituted a regime that combined three things I just said -- mandatory caps, a trading system inside the caps, as we have with clean air, and a tax incentive to be able to invest in the new technology and to be able to produce the new technology -- I think we would be much better off than we are in the current situation," Gingrich said.

I don't want Gingrich as the nominee because he will unify the liberal base. Gingrich is counting on his crushing Obama in a debate to insure his victory. However, he comes off as a grumpy old white guy trying to beat up on the first black president who too many say is trying his "best".

I don't think a debate will win this election for Republicans. I think Americans crave someone that has good ideas that they believe they can trust. That's why I think Santorum is the better candidate. I don't think he would be too much of a hothead and Americans are looking for stability and sincerity.
