Excellent debate for Newt Gingrich. Mr. Gingrich is our last, best hope to defeat Mitt Romney.

I hate to say it, but I think it's time for conservatives to coellesce around Newt. Personally I wish Cain were still in the race or that Santorum were doing better, but the fact is, I think at this point Newt is the only one who can reasonably be expected to stop Mitt. If it was close between Santorum and Newt in SC I might feel differently, but it isn't close. If Santorum and Perry supporters will read the writing on the wall and get behind the Newt, we can stop Mittens in his tracks - otherwise, the conservative vote will be spilt and Mitt will walk away with the nomination. It's really just that simple.

Going into this, Newt was not my favorite (still isn't really), and I know he has a lot of baggage, but I think he has proven himself in these debates that he is capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone. The idea that the establishment is pushing that Mitt is the only candidate who can beat Obama is just pure horse poop! I believe Newt would run rings around Obama in a debate. Newt isn't my ideal conservative, but I'd much rather see him than Mitt get the nomination and the simple fact is, he is the only one even close to being able to beat Mitt in SC and in the overall Primary.

That's just my two cents.

If Newt were the nominee, I think 0 would be too “busy” to consent to a debate.

Yes, it's now down to brass tacks: we must defeat Mr. Romney with the best that we can muster, and that has turned out to be Newt Gingrich.

Last night's great success at the S.C. debate certainly cements Mr. Gingrich's position as the most skillful speaker of all of the presidential contenders.

That’s how I feel. If Santorum doesn’t pull out a silver or strong bronze, I’ll become a newt backer. Out of expediency. I know we will regret a Gingrich presidency, but perfection ain’t out there.
