Thanks, FRiend.
Going into this, Newt was not my favorite (still isn't really), and I know he has a lot of baggage, but I think he has proven himself in these debates that he is capable of going toe-to-toe with anyone. The idea that the establishment is pushing that Mitt is the only candidate who can beat Obama is just pure horse poop! I believe Newt would run rings around Obama in a debate. Newt isn't my ideal conservative, but I'd much rather see him than Mitt get the nomination and the simple fact is, he is the only one even close to being able to beat Mitt in SC and in the overall Primary.
That's just my two cents.
Yes, it's now down to brass tacks: we must defeat Mr. Romney with the best that we can muster, and that has turned out to be Newt Gingrich.
Last night's great success at the S.C. debate certainly cements Mr. Gingrich's position as the most skillful speaker of all of the presidential contenders.
The establishment GOP is just as capable as the Democrats and MSM to use polling to astroturf the people into thinking that Romney is running away with the election.
Remember, there has only been ONE voting primary so far. There have not been enough actual votes taken to say that one or the other candidate is "running away" with the nomination.

That’s how I feel. If Santorum doesn’t pull out a silver or strong bronze, I’ll become a newt backer. Out of expediency. I know we will regret a Gingrich presidency, but perfection ain’t out there.
Anyone not having heard Newts comments needs to listen to them. They were were perfect.
As a former long-time Gingrich constituent, I can vouch that I’ve never heard him in better form.
He is reminding me of his 1994 self, which is a great thing.
