There were Jews who understood what was going on and left Europe before Hitler closed the gates. The rest did not and had to deal with it. Maybe this will be a wake up call to the parents and their child.
There were some Jews who left Germany as early as the late 1920's, I think I saw a story as early as 1923, because they feared Hitler and what was coming down the road.

That early? Wow! I met an elderly couple in Israel about 10 plus years ago and both of them got out around 1935ish.
