Since Huntsman is dropping out and backing Romney, I was just wondering if Romney promised him anything???? Like V.P., if Christie won’t take it!! I wouldn’t even want him as V.P.! I have never liked that guy for some reason!

Interesting to note that Mitt has no events scheduled this week per list in The State.
BUMP!
Romney doesn’t really have to promise anyone anything to get them to drop out. These candidates are all relatively wealthy men in their own right going in, so if a there is some kind of pay off offered it would seem to me to be one of power. The RINO Establishment cronies can offer just that in a myriad of ways, with nothing traced back directly to Romney. The Establishment and some of these candidates have no use for traditional conservatives so they are happy to comply, if only to receive a pay off of their campaign expenses.
We don’t always find out who these candidates really are until they drop out and endorse. Santorum, should he drop out, may very well endorse Romney, because I believe he is one who is indebted to the Establishment for his career and has cooperated with the Establishment votes on many occasions, as was the case when the Establishment in the senate pressed him to support Arlen Specter, over the conservative Pat Toomey. Santorum cheerfully obliged. I can’t let that go. It spoke volumes to me as to who buttered his bread. The voters then made him toast. Even now he does not try to stop Romney, but rather complains once in awhile about some small thread of offense he perceives Romney has committed and Santorum feigns some small offense.
“This time, the results will be dramatically different, as the states active Evangelical voting bloc is expected to set aside prejudice in favor of pragmatism. Support among their ranks may signal that they accept Romney, a Mormon, in part for being the candidate largely believed to offer the toughest challenge to President Obama.”
I certainly hope this isn’t true. IF a Christian who really doesn’t want to vote for a Mormon chooes pragmatism...the obvious “pragmatic” choice is to overlook Newt’s past transgressions and give your vote to him. IMO the only two acceptable candidates still running are Newt and Rick Santorum. Either of these men have the gravitas to go toe to toe with Mr. Obama in a general election. Rick Perry just doesn’t have what it takes to beat Mr. Obama. Perry is probably the most likeabe of Newt, Santorum, and himself. Closely followed by Santorum - also likeable. Newt is the least likeable, but by far the most experiened and smartest. Also, I would only really trust Newt or Santorum as CinC to make good choices concerning the use and sustainment of our military.
Whatever, it is a mistake to pragmatically vote for Romney thinking he will unseat Mr. Obama. The analysis of polling data I have seen is that when there is a Romney vs Obama scenario it is virtually a tie. However, of great significance is of those that said they would vote for Mitt, the vast majority said it was that they were actually voting against Obama, not for Mitt. Wheareas, the vast majority of Obama voters were actually voting for Obama. That is telling. IF we send up a GOP nominee that doesn’t really have backing but is only getting support because he isn’t Obama, that can change quickly by and October Surprise of other things. I don’t think it is possible for Romney to ever energize the GOP to vote for him instead of just against Obama. However, I believe either Newt or Santorum could do this. IF he had much more time, it is possible that Perry could as well. However, I don’t think it possible by November 2012. IMO
“Ron Paul will not get the nomination, but.....he will have a substantial and lasting impact on this POTUS election!!!”
Honestly, I don’t think that is correct. The (generally speaking) type of voter that would support Ron Paul and his Libertarain views is not the kind that is going to vote for a GOP nominee other than Paul. Paul (generally speaking) appeals to peaceniks, drug users, prostitutes, and the naive and uninformed.
Those types will vote third party in a general election. Or for Mr. Obama.
My Point?
There is another Quote in the bible that pertains to this whole issue. “Judge not, or you will be Judged”
Now we all can be excited about the candidate we have chosen, and pray for him. As I am assuming you do as well.
Treating Newt Gingrich as a god? Oh my, You are talking about Born again Christians here, labeling them as worshiping a man? Oh, my.
So I guess my point was to check out the plank in your own eye, before taking the speck out of your neighbors eye. Which is also another scripture in the bible.
I can see your are for Santorum, AS is your right.
So is it our right to vote for our candidate of our choice.
I don’t think it is Newt Gingrich’s voters worshiping him as a god as much for you as you being unhappy where Santorum is in the poles. Santorum has too far to go at 14% to be able to beat Romney.
