The sad part of the interview is that Sarah seems to admit she is beaten. That Sarah Palin documentary was called “The Undefeated,” but the sequel should be called “The Defeated.” She says she believes that her endorsement would only harm a candidate because any time her name is attached to a person or a policy, “controversy” arises. She actually thinks endorsing a candidate will hurt that candidate. This goes a long way to explaining why she didn’t run for president. She believes she has been defined in the public’s mind as a hated figure and doesn’t seem to believe she can do anything to change that. That’s quite sad.
The problem is to face a media onslaught, you need to be willing to fight relentlessly and never, ever give up. You can probably argue that Hilary Clinton is an example where she stuck around and was able to eventually turn her negatives around to a significant degree. Very few people probably have the drive to keep fighting for that long, but Palin seems to have turned out not to be one of them.
Sarah is making all sorts of comments about some of the forum last night - and then had to admit, she hadn’t watched a chunk of it.
That sounded really really bad. You are being paid to be a commentator, you should admit up front you missed some of the debate... not after the interviewer “caught you”.
I’m losing respect for Sarah. She will wait to endorse after Mitt wins the primary.... thanks Sarah, for NOTHING.
She just said she missed the very beginning where Huckabee gave his little speech saying the candidates weren’t allowed to mention each other by name, even though he then allowed in a question for Newt asking him to explain his attacks on Mitt Romney.
huckleberrys son in law is on romney payroll since october.
Liar!! She said she missed the first part where Huckleberry set the rules.
What a bunch of crap. Sarah spoke highly of Santorum and he shot up in Iowa, which included an ad that had Sarah’s words in it. Todd Palin endorsed Newt and now he is shooting up in SC. Where would Newt be if he was the only conservative against the rino mitt? Sarah is holding her fire until the right time and I dont know why that is so hard to understand. Sarah hit a home run talking about peeps unable to talk about certain subjects, same as the dunham campaign. There was a recent poll that listed Sarah endorsement in top two of desired endorsements.
I agree. This was a poor appearance, and trying to cover for it by saying she’s just like all the voters—out there trying to live their lives and run their businesses and not having time to catch all the debates. Yikes! For $1M a year, you’d think she could schedule to watch the debates before appearing on network news cover to comment on it.
I’ve been a long-time Palin fan, but this is pretty weak.
Also, she had no idea that Santorum was selling sweater vests as a way to raise campaign funds—not auctioning off his personal clothing for charity or otherwise.
If she’s retreated to trying to simply represent the conservative soccer moms of America, that is a sad ending indeed.
Read later.
What a great interview! Thanks for posting link.
Sarah looks terrific of course. But more importantly she takes on Obama like no one else. She hit the mark by saying we are looking for the best person to undo the harm Obama has done. She also is right on saying no criticism should be off limits because we need to vet these candidates. If Romney can’t answer Gingrich how is he going to handle Obamas onslaught.
No candidate speaks as strongly as Newt when it comes to undoing BHO’s radical actions - every time he states what he’ll do in his first hours as President, crowds cheer wildly - with good cause.
What Palin did say was great, but if I was paying her to comment after the Huck Forum and found that she hadn’t even bothered to watch the whole thing, I’d be pissed.
She was also uninformed about the Santorum sweater vest deal, which is not big deal but taken together I was disappointed that she was not better prepared.
On the other hand, it’s Judge Jeanine which no one watches anyhow.
Watching this I got the feeling that Sarah was not very interested in apprearing on Judge Who’s weakend lineup show. There seemed to be a bit of animosity creeping in.
Guess when you get paid the big bucks, you have to show up, regardless.
Regarding the forum itself, with the “pre-selected” UNDECIDED questioners and the Mitt bias you could cut with a knife, this was barely better than with CNN or any other lib MSM moderator.
Yes and he is the only one who warns of vote fraud and says they object to voter ID because they want to cheat.
My take on it was that Palin got annoyed from the early question that exposed she hadn’t actually watched (in full) what she was commenting on. I took it as defensiveness.
Like the French rifle - "never fired, only dropped once"?
Palin says we need someone who has solutions, not just soundbytes. This is Newt.
What? Sarah said that she missed the Beginning of the forum when Huckabee was laying out the rules. She wasnt caught in anything....sheesh!!!
