I watched this yesterday. The most inspiring minutes of the forum occur near the end:
You've been told this many times in the past. As Republicans you're constantly told, "Well, you can't really have what you really want because, you know, if you put a real strong conservative up there, across the board on national security and on moral/cultural issues and on economic and spending issues then we'll have a hard time winning. And we need to win."

And who's saying that to you? People who don't share your values. And they want you to compromise your values so they can have their values represented on a national ticket. Don't defer your judgment!

---snip---

I find it really incredible that, and I hear this a lot, and legitimately so, where people say to candidates running for office, "Why do you compromise?" Why do you compromise?" Why do you compromise on this or that?" "Why don't you stand for your pinciples?"

Why don't YOU stand for your principles?

You want your leaders to lead? Lead them!

Watch the entire 6 minutes here.

Yes!!!! YOu are spot on.

“You’ve been told this many times in the past. What really gripes the hell out of me, is that people like Rush and Hannity and Coulter and Levin and all those other fair weather phonies have been saying this very thing...and now we have a candidate who articulates these ideas BETTER than anyone ever has, and WHERE ARE THEY? They’re skirting for Romney....

I know Santorum is saying this, and he’s a good man, but he cannot get the job done. Sorry, maybe as a VP or some other office but not the president. Sorry, Santorum has not paid his dues. He will in the end compromise.

“Why don’t YOU stand for your principles?”

Sorry, it’s one thing to have some tag line in your campaign, but there are sheep out there who like turds in the ocean couldn’t describe their principles if their life depended on them. That, in it’s purest and best sense, is why we have politicians. They articulate these things for us. Unfortunately they are seldom clear.

This time things are quite clear. You have Obama on the left, Romney in the middle and Newt on the right.

Oh, and one more thing. So here we are in SC and who does Santorum go after? Newt.

Ok, so he’ll probably get a little bump, which means he’ll still be carrying himself in that arthritic looking sweater vest that my grandfather used to wear, down to Florida where he’ll split the votes again.

“Newt, I’m talking to you. Stay in the race. Stay in until it’s just you and Mittens.”
