Typical mafia style hierarchy. Basically all conspirators, each having a hand in the operation. Only one needs to turn state’s evidence except the state is involved also. A Federal prosecutor would be the way to handle interstate commerce.
The school should be stripped of its charter and divided up into community colleges.
Not to nitpick, but there are many people who have gotten perfect scores on the SAT.
Aside from that, what was he high on that caused him to shoot up a church and school, and why was the school involved with him getting onto a plane home?
In that year he was the only one to receive a perfect score, and since then, the SAT has been dumbed down somewhat.
Why did they send him home? Erratic behavior, violence, if I remember the newspaper details correctly. Believe me, MIT got a black eye.
That's a little extreme. How about firing the Board of Trustees and totally reworking how the school is governed?
But the school has definitely changed a lot. I didn't graduate all that long ago, but it already feels like a different place.
Ok, I understand better now.
Yep, that’s queers, pedophiles, liberals, marxists, and communists operate.
I said this from the moment the Sandusky scandel became public, and suspect that their are more than a few members of the Board of Trustees that were using “Second Mile” as their primary source to find little boys. Furthermore, it wouldn’t suprise me if there were not a few Congressmen involved, too.
The elites of this world (politics, media, entertainment, art, unions, banking, etc.) have an abundance of perverts in their ranks. To wit, look at Barry Obama: Crack Addict and Closet Homosexual.
Have you ever wondered why the people in power are ramming the gay agenda up our collective ass so hard? It’s because most of them are pervets, queers and pedos.
The tragic case of Larry J. Harmon was prominent in the newspapers when it happened because LSD was becoming known as a dangerous drug, and MIT was not the only university that gave the impression they condoned experimentation. Worse yet, the parents of this student claimed they had not been notified by MIT officials that they had put him on the plane. Administration officials told reporters they no longer acted “in loco parentis” but treated their students as adults.
MIT student newspaper, The Tech, wrote: ‘Certainly University High in Spokane will be wary of sending more students our way. No doubt the tarnish on MIT’s reputation worries the admissions office a wee bit. But a Nobel prizewinner or Clean Air Car Race will restore its luster. No sweat.”
Now, these Very Important People-types will be shocked and dismayed by such draconian punishment. Give them an out. Turn over EVERYONE who participated in this gay sex club and the sports can stay AFTER a two year penalty. Keep covering the tails of the perverts and it's bye-bye to all PSU sports for 10 years.
Penn State Ping.
must-read ping
I read it. I now understand why is was that the whole Sandusky thing died.
I have to wonder why he denigrated the board. That is, calling them “Power Group, the Praetorian Guard, the Emeritus Trustees, and the Sheep.” Of course a thirty-two members break up into factions. Of course successful businessmen end up having more influence (they didn’t get that money boxing kittens). Of course a core group of around five members forms. He obviously wants people to lose respect for the board.
There’s a problem with his argument. It’s not the individuals on the board that is the problem but the reliance of the system on the president to be the end all be all of decision making and information flow.
Maybe PSU needs a new governing structure. If so then he should just attack the governing structure. The “Power Group” will stay. They won’t be replaced but they could be put into a new governing structure and that might make a difference.
My guess is that the state legislature in 1970 wanted to limit the drama of a governing board and departments running autonomously by appointing a single, all powerful president. They can just deal with him rather than having to listen to thirty-two board members and numerous department heads whine and complain. It’s a patronage appointment, being on the board, and I doubt it was meant to be a position with any substance.
It isn't just Penn State but in colleges and universities across the nation.
I know some family members who had perfect scores on the SAT...that MIT student wasn’t the only one.
UN-EFFING BELIEVABLE!! If this is true, the entire board of trustees that covered up these rapes (including Paterno) should be proscecuted as a felony RICO case for gross obstruction of justice!!

Didn’t sound to me like WPaCon was trying to “explain away” anything of the like? Are you? Did you know about this and are protecting this “exemplary” institution’s reputation??

Follow the Money-——Power corrupts, absolute Power corrupts, absolutely-——been that way since man was on earth and will never change-—
The system is corrupt just as cancer infiltrates the body like a web. Generations are involved that can’t police themselves, they need to be stopped. Make an example out of them. Defending civil suit settlements will drain funds then the rats will flee the ship anyway.
For full disclosure, I went to Penn State but am not concerned about protecting its reputation. I’ve been critical of it before, and I dislike the direction the school is headed in.
With that said, I agree with you in that I am against the Board of Trustees and want them all gone and in jail if warranted.
I disagree with you on Paterno. They should have put him on administrative leave while this mess is sorted out, not just fire him because of media pressure and the need to have a scapegoat.
Yeah, I read that, too.
The BOT is a deceptive and corrupt institution.
