CALLER: Oh, yeah, we got bulldoze him. [Romney] He's gotta know there is no safe haven. If he's gonna represent the Republican ticket then he's gonna have to --

RUSH: Let me tell you something I heard him say --

CALLER: All right.

RUSH: -- that I don't know that he's said publicly. He said, if he wins, he thinks he'll only last one term.

CALLER: Now, are you talking about Obama or are you talking about Romney?

RUSH: He says that he is going to roll back all the stuff the left has done. He's gonna ban Obamacare. He's gonna fix Medicaid. He's gonna take on Social Security. He says, (paraphrasing) "I've got four years to save this country, and if I succeed I'm gonna be so hated, I may not get reelected."

CALLER: Well, I'll tell you what --

RUSH: And what he means by that is the media and the left is gonna come after him like crazy, because he is going to be taking on every one of their sacred cows.

Lot of good comments here, folks. I am as conflicted as ever. Not conflicted about my personal convictions, just about how the primary candidates appear when I consider the Buckley Rule: Vote for most conservative primary candidate likely to win general election.

- Romney ain't all that conservative, though I do feel he has moved in the right direction.
- Newt, Paul? They can't best Obama.
- Perry? He's not convincing many conservatives to support him, much less a general electorate.
- Huntsman? Has some good points but has no shot to win the nomination. I honestly don't know how he would fair in the general.
- Santorum? Rick I like a lot and can get behind him if he starts showing better in SC & FL and nationaly.

Following FL in the next week is Nevada, Maine, Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. We should know how it's going to be by then, if not before.

If Romney is elected president, you are going to be surprised how fast the MSM decides that he is a conservative. Every time he screws up it will be “Conservative President Mitt Romney.....” did this and did that. Every liberal whacko policy he promotes will be called conservative! He will be used to crush the ideology. Why do you think they are all so excited by a Romney Obama contest- they have a “no lose” race.
