I sgree. We need someone with a backbone. Bachman has that. The leaders we have now only worry about re-election. If things continue, there will be a third party. However, if we let Obama win the next election, non of the above will matter.
Unfortunately, Bachmann let herself get manipulated into a hopeless run for President, which accomplished two things for the GOP-E:
1) It helped diminish Sarah Palin as a threat to the GOP-E by slicing off some of her support to Bachmann as a possible alternative TEA Party candidate, which was critical coming off of Tucson.
2) It effectively removed Bachmann from the House equation and left the House Freshmen without a Nationally known leader as soon as Boehner started telling them to get their asses in line. Where was Bachmann when Boehner jammed the freshmen two weeks ago on the payroll tax cut, and muted their phone lines to silence them, when he informed them of his betrayal?
