If you break no laws and make a profit for your shareholders that’s all you need. We don’t hold many companies to even this standard ( look at half of the TV commercials — can you say fraud?). Newt’s ego is somewhat over sized.
Actually that is the kind of CAPITALISM that we have.
What about the ethics of sitting on Pelosi’s couch?
Is there something unethical about capitalism such that it needs to be qualified by the word ethical?
**************
One, we don’t have capitalism in current American. And second, if one places God over economy ideology, then ethical may well supercede fraudulence and greed, at least to some.
Who is going to decide what is "fair" and what isn't? A bureaucrat that has never run a business? If nothing else, the Dems have a nice audio clip/quote to place in one of their ads - "see, even Gingrich agrees with us!"
Limbaugh is right. A discussion of ethical capitalism is for liberals and fools. Romney should be attacked for romneycare. And his flip flops. His stint with bain is not conservatives’ problem with romney.
Have you ever read any of the pieces written by George Soros.
Soros is, of course, dedicated to replacing capitalism by socialism. His rationale is predicated on his own experience -- he made billions in the capitalist system because he is 100% amoral.
Soros blames the capitalist system for his wealth and, knowing no better, assumes that all other capitalists are similarly amoral. Therefore, the capitalist system must be replaced by the socialist system -- to keep people like him from doing what he has done.
Soros has no concept of right or wrong, no conscience whatsoever. And he blames capitalism for what he has wrought!
Nice. -:)
The words ‘Gingrich’ and ‘ethical’ in the same sentence? Oh my! Does Gingrich consider it ethical to create campaign videos filled with 28 minutes of lies, smears, and distortions?
Just look at the Hairy Reed. The Senate is already controlled by Mormons.

“As for why Rush et al. are supporting Romney”
In Rush’s case I don’t think it began as support for Romney exactly - it’s actually an unintended side effect of Rush fighting Heresy against the Great Idol, Capitalism.
In this case Gingrich and Perry are Heretics, guilty of accusing Capitalism of being capable of possessing a sin nature. This, of course, is an outrage and an absurdity. To quote the great Rushbo himself, “Fairness? What is fairness?”.
Capitalism is by its very nature perfect and without blemish, and therefore Fair no matter what the outcome of any particular capitalistic act may be. Purchasing Worldwide Grinding Systems for $8 mil, loading it up with debt while paying yourself $12 mil, why that’s probably the Sacrament of equity extraction. And if you don’t believe me then you are a socialist, an anti-capitalist, and probably one who consorts with devils. Even a slick operator like Mitt can’t twist Capitalism into anything unethical. Amen.
Nothing ethical about his ads or the movie he bought
******************
As you may or may not know, today Newt called about the Superpac to edit the inaccuracies in the film or take it down! He challenged Mr. Slick to do the same with his Superpac- but, of coure, Mr. Slick refused to comply.
Ethical Capitalism?
Sounds like one of those made up pc lib words
*************
With respect, that sounds like the propaganda of the Establishment GOP socialists.
Ditto.
I don’t think the discussion should be about Ethical Capitalism at all. In reality Romney took a low, but highly effective shot at Newt with his allegatiion about Newt making 1.6 million lobbying for Fannie Mae.
Romney follwed up in interviews with the “If you can’t take the heat...” bromide.
Newt decided NOT to lay down. Now Mitt is taking the heat and all of a sudden the conversation is how we Conservatives are disparaging Capitalism...B@$$&*#t!
Mitt is showing himself almost as low as Paul.
” He needs to go back and read James Burnhams book, the Managerial Revolution.”
I’ll bet you Rush’s last dollar that he’s never heard of the book.
You, however, are a troublemaker intent on bringing some intelligence to this joint. Knock it off.
Mitt is bound up by his faith. He is not Harvard...he is Mormon.
Don't we need to know what that means.
It means if he is a good mormon and does everything right, he will get a planet of his own. I'm not kidding.
Something like the abbreviation used for the lawyers of Morrison & Foerster?
Christie at the Beach, I would love to disagree with you- but I can’t bring myself to do it. I mispent my youth on the beach. :)
