Those attempts at copying two different brands of the L.A. Sound got Sloan and Barri noticed by Lou Adler, who ran the shop at Screen Gems. He used them as backup singers and musicians on sessions with Jan and Dean, and Sloan even replaced Dean Torrence as the falsetto voice in The Little Old Lady from Pasadena.
The boys finally got on the charts with a dance song performed by a local group pushing a new dance called the Slauson, named after a boulevard in L.A.

Adler now had them writing for Jan & Dean, and they got album placement with this little number. I titter when I think of it.
