Cripplecreek, I’m a bit lazy to look it up but I know that the U.S. Bureau of the Census has been a part of the Commerce Department at least since the 1920s or 1930s. Obama didn’t just recently make it a part of the Commerce Department.

Yes he did. It was under the Treasury Dept. until the 2010 census.

No, it wasn’t and I can prove it. Unfortunately, my dial-up connection, always slow, is unbelievably slow now. Once I get that corrected, I’ll look it up.

You could yourself if you wish. You will find that the Commerce Department consists of a bunch of agencies, some of which have only tangential relationships to commerce.

I’ll get back to you, but I know for sure that the Census Bureau, at least in modern times, was never under the Treasury Department.
