Got mine the second day, 90°F, and humid.
If you can, shoot with whatever you are comfortable. I'd say about 75% of us had the 10/22 Ruger. Mine had the modified sights by Tech sights, which BTW are worth their weight in gold, and I had three extra magazines, and the US Army surplus M1-Garand sling, another item worth its weight.
I also did a simple trigger replacement a few years back, I got a Voltsquartzen (sp) trigger just to give a little better trigger pull-those stock 10/22 triggers break at about 10 lbs it feels like. Not the $250 version, just the little replacement "drop in" job for like $50. Never got the “bull barrel”, too expensive!
In retrospect, the only other thing I really could have really used was an extension on my magazine release. When you are shooting your AQT things happen pretty fast!
