I think I agree

Hold the line for now

But very soon, if things don’t change something will have to be done.

What will that be?

Let ‘em squirm. They are FINALLY made nervous that we are not going to cave. That we are NOT going to cave for Romney after all. They are using Paul to make us nervous.

How about a little reverse CHAOS? Paul would throw the rascals out and they are the ones who are sweating. Let ‘em squirm.

Continue on with the real race out there. Between Newt, Santorum, Perry. That is 65% of the Party who is NOT COOPERATING. That’s a good thing.

Rebel on.

Today Newt said that if the three conservatives do not consolidate so that Romney does not face a divided opposition in SC. Romney could become the default nominee as soon as SC.

His first alliance would be to the Bush family. Very disappointing but I am not surprised.

They are in full court press mode, and yes they are nervous. Paul is getting traction, and Paul is their worst night mare. So they want to get this deal done and quickly. Paul has the legs to go all the way and that scares team Mitt.

In December, when Newt said he would name Bolton as his Secretary of State this place got as excited as kid in a candy shop with found $100 bill. Newt is so great. Newt is so wise. Blah blah blah. Today, the actual person tjat made Newt so great in December comes out and endorses Romney and now he is a scum.

I'm not sure who I support yet, but you can bet that no matter what I'll be pulling the lever for anyone other than Obama and that includes if it is Romney, dare I speak such sacrilidge here.. The only exception to that is if Paul is the nominee.

Don't get me wrong, Paul has some great ideas and direction for this nation. But other than those 3 or 4 things, the rest of his ideas are just bat shit crazy at best, and dangerous at worst.

I won't support a candidate that would have the US stick it's head in the sand and tink ery ting gonna be aright. We have a bazillion posts here about how illegal immigration should curbed, but with Paul - no fences (they might keep us in). Think he will do much to stop that problem?

With Paul the budget will get cut no doubt, great, then what? Maybe we piss down our leg and run when our allies need us - viva la France, wait, America...

I will vote for Romney, or Santorum, or Gingrich, or Perry, but not Paul. I'd rather the destruction of this great nation happen under the democrat banner than a fake republican one.

I am getting tired of the double standard our side puts on our candidates when the stakes are high. Scrutinize the candindates - fine by me. But seing posts where people here orgasm when Gingrich mentions Bolton as SOS and then start having coniption fits while stumbling all over each other to be the first to say what a shithead Bolton is when he endorses Romney makes me wonder just how deep the thinking some people have here...

We should be focused on consolidating power in the House and Senate (not to mention state and local offices). King Obama, King Romney, King Perry, etc., that all BS. A conservative house and a conservative senate trump. That goes from spending to court nominees.

But hey, as long "conservatives" spend their time, money and resources fighting for the kings chair that's okay right - because it's all about the glory - not the results for the nation...

Frustrated

” .....Romney could become the default nominee as soon as SC. “ <<<<

Traditionally that is true because the Establishment HERDED US LIKE SHEEP. Hopefully, our rebellion holds the line, long enough for Paul to attract more democrats and scare the bejeebies out of the ESTABLISHMENT.

Our government SHOULD FEAR US, not the other way around.

Abstaining from the presidential vote won’t do it, even if we fill out the rest of the ballot.

We would need to congeal behind a third party candidate, knowing even that we would not win, but with enough conservative support to “kill” the GOP, who would know they could never win again without Conservative support.

It would mean we have to destroy not only the GOP, but K-Street, and the alphabet soup beltway bandits as well.

Does “Crony Capitalism” ring a bell?

Only 3 deconstructionist possibilities exist:

Ron Paul- But we lose credibility on the international front.

Newt Gingrich- He would have to be like Samson and be willing to bring the Temple down on himself; he may have that theatric play left in him as a legacy.

Sarah Palin- She would have to be convinced by God...if He cares about us. I know He will protect Israel.

My humble assessment-

If this were arithmetic, it looks to me like four to one.
Against Romney. So, him rising above his 25% is looking more omninous. Newt and Perry need to nail Romney in South Carolina, bring his numbers down, and then fair fight against him in Florida.

Roulette, anyone?

Guaranteed that most of Ron Paul’s (legit) supporters along with Huntsman’s would go to Romney. Hopefully they will both hang in there.

Amen! After the 1992 election I told my wife that Bush II would follow Clinton. Daddy Bush just didn’t seem like he even wanted to win. I was convinced that he was told to go away and his son could be president after Clinton. I was convinced our votes didn’t count. Then the Florida recount fiasco came along and I got sucked back in. Then in 2008 I voted for Sarah and AGAINST obama. Again, I got sucked back in. It won’t happen again.

If the Establishment panic is real, it’s because they are looking at the calendar in time to save their @$$&$ from Paul gaining traction. They are starting to fear him worse than us! They have time to join us or fear Paul gaining ground. Let ‘em sweat.

If we hold the dang line, who would the Establishment rather have, Paul or us? “Us”, means OUR conservative nominee, not theirs, not Romney, and not a presidential vote abstention.

The Establishment would prefer Obama to Paul because they would be banished by Paul. Because of that, maybe, just maybe they would spend the next 11 months getting on board with us, rather than run us over.

Personally, I would prefer Paul to Obama, but as with Obama - I could not be part of electing him. I will pull the lever for any R, other than Paul. I hate to say it, but I would sit out the election, or go and write in someone else. But I can't vote for Paul.

Hold the line.

I am, and that includes making sure next president will not abandon our national interests internationally, give the immigration issue a pass because it's libertarian to do so, have a "medical marijuana" shop ope up in my state (or neighborhood), all the while claiming that crap is conservative principles in action...

Yes

And that may very well be.

My question is, if it all goes to poop, what will we do?

yes, I think the Masada option is premature, but worth discussing.

I’d like to think Perry, and Santorum would yield and throw to Newt by Florida. Paul is his own crazy wild card.

Perry I would have thought would do well in SC and FL. Newt has connection problems but he is like a boxer training for one last fight and he has all the ring experience you could ask for if he can just get the title fight.

Out of my hands, for sure!
