Newt Gingrich: I Crossed The Line (Bain Criticism)

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Newt Gingrich signaled Wednesday that he believes his criticism of Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital is a mistake — and that he’s created an impression that he was echoing Democratic rhetoric.

Gingrich conceded the problem when pressed by a Rick Santorum supporter at a book-signing here Wednesday.

“I’m here to implore one thing of you. I think you’ve missed the target on the way you’re addressing Romney’s weaknesses. I want to beg you to redirect and go after his obvious disingenuous about his conservatism and lay off the corporatist versus the free market. I think it’s nuanced,” Dean Glossop, an Army Reservist from Inman, S.C., said.

“Unfortunately, if that’s really the case, and it is as bad as we’re both pessimistically inclined to believe, then all of our candidates are doomed. None of them are stupid enough to communicate effectively with the masses.”

It is. Which is why Obama won. Which is why policy issues don’t really matter to most. It’s about media manipulation to keep Obama in office. And conservative manipulation to to get him out. All income generators btw.

The voters are in the middle, know not much, and will go with the candidate who makes them feel good, they feel they can trust, and they LIKE . . . IF they can decide. That’s it. Overstimulation and subsequent turn-off result from bombardment on issues they don’t understand and don’t care to understand. Most people have their own overbearing personal problems to deal with and don’t pay attention to much more than their own pocketbooks at the very least, in the very end. But you know that. Constitutional issues? Who really gives a fig . . . except the Paulies and the Tea Partiers. Our culture has changed. Wish it wasn’t so.

When politics makes no sense, and all seems lost, there's always Smirnoff .....

Oh, btw, I have decided to believe that Jesus is returning in 2012, the earthly world will come to its end and we don't have to worry about any of this other stuff any longer. Cheers!

Oh, but get to confession .... early and often! I will.

But the logic of them together is a beautiful thing. If you think the world will end and that means Heaven is upon us (not doomsday), what would you do?

Don't Worry Be Happy

Ignorance is bliss .... (wasn't it Harold Camping who said that?)

p.s. please wake me up when this is all over

I can’t WAIT to hear you Newt bashers come October this year when the Democrats are using this and other similar lines to absolutely CREMATE Mitt in the general election.

There will be great whining and gnashing of teeth. And then the ultimate hang your head down and watch as Obama is coronated.

And then the REAL fun starts.

Just think about the downline Senate and rep races that will be affected once us 70%ers decide to stay home and clean out our closets on election day.

You REALLY don’t want the presidency, do you?

I'm hardly a "Newt basher". Newt's Special Orders in '92 made me a conservative and my first post on FR was in total support of him when the rest of the forum was saying he wasn't a real conservative. Newt is my idol, which is why I sent him my first contribution EVER when the Democrats lodged over 400 bogus ethics "violations" against him.

Say i bash Newt to my face and I'll hand you your head.

My point is your point in reverse. Newt is handing the Democrats a conservative voice to attack Romney with. And if Newt really wanted to win, as opposed to just paying back Mitt, he would go back to defending his fellow candidates and confronting the media with their agenda. Its what made him soar in the polls. He now seems determined to lose and take Mitt with him. He's breaking my heart.

I agree. Seems he is determined to bash his rivals even if it hurts himself. He is only helping the Dems and making himself look bad.

Someone needs to tell Calista, since that’s the only person he listens to. He needs to snap out of it.
