Well, what Romney did was perfectly legal, you say?

I think it's still legal to take over failing businesses and try to make them profitable. But I'll have to check with our masters in the federal government.

He has spent the last week telling us how Romney is an evil capitalist?

- - -

... All of you capitalists that think anything goes, and the complain about the Kelo Supremem Court decision. Well, that eminent domain situation is pure greedy capitalism. Was that ok?

“Let me google that for you!

Santorum and Palin”

I’m sure it was just an honest mistake that you didn’t realize that article was from February, 2011....

You should use your Google-fu to find some of the recent glowing remarks Palin has made about Rick Santorum.

It is my opinion Romney is the reason Obama is president.

Wow—that’s pretty delusional. Obama won because McCain was a horrible candidate with self destructive tendencies, lacking the will to go after Obama’s many weaknesses.

The MSM went full bore after Palin because her convention speech made Obama look (for a fleeting moment) like the lightweight he is.

Romney had nothing to do with it.

Well, that eminent domain situation is pure greedy capitalism.

The government disrespecting property rights and interfering in the free market is not "pure capitalism".

I did not put this in “Breaking News” as I knew someone would squawk about it if I did and I was right. I must be psychic. Someone who has more authority than me must have done it. Maybe you should scout around for the culprit and get back with me.

>The GOP had better do something about Iowa and NH being first and second next time around, those states are a joke.

I used to think like that. Because our leaders, the GOP establishment would want to do what is best for Conservatism.

I am now certain they want it that way. The current screwed up system is the only way they can prop up their loser moderate each election cycle. Think about it. Bush I, Dole, McCain, Romney. None of them would stand a chance if the first ten states to vote were the ones who went most strongly Conservative in the last general.

The current system is their lever of power. They will never let go of it, lest us genuinely Conservative Proles be allowed to pursue our dangerous, uncompassionate Conservatism unchecked by their benevolent moderate magnificence.

Palin was the only outsider who *might* have upset the whole applecart (and even she could have turned out to be disappointing). Sadly, regardless of who wins this time, I think we will not be seeing anything change anytime soon.

The whole system is rotten.

I am starting to get really sick of all this divide and conquer BS. It is what Obama has been doing to us for years now and God knows I can’t stand him and don’t want him in office for another day. I will vote for whichever of the candidates wins the nomination and is able to kick Obama’s ass all the way back to Chicago. After Sarah didn’t run, I really have no preference. I think any one of them would be a million times better than Obama.

Perry is long-hauling... he’s a real conservative with true experience.... waiting for the faux conservatives to drop out.

Newt didn’t hit Mitt on failing businesses....he did so on businesses which were not failing, but were bought by Bain and sold off after forcing the companies to take out huge loans based on their assets in order to pay Bain enormous fees. The debt burden from this is what reportedly dragged the companies down into bankruptcy. This may be considered capitalism, but certainly it will be problematic for the GOP if Romney wins the nomination.

"Newt is attacking Mitt on his abortion stand now in ads."

His flip flop on abortion is very legit to attack him on. He went from Pro Life, to Pro Choice when he ran for the Senate against Kennedy, to back to Pro Life once he became the governor. Someone once said you get a pass on this issue for flipping once. But he's the only one I've heard of thats flipped twice.

I hope Newt lays off the Bain Capital line of attack. He should be supportive of saving jobs in failing companies. Not attacking Mitt for it. As a matter of fact, I think one of Mitt's strengths is that he worked at Bain Capital. He'll know what to do to restructure Washington so to speak.

I never said it wasn't; I just said legal isn't necessarily right. It's also legal to take over weak or failing businesses, strip their assets and throw them over the cliff, making sure you get a good return on your investment, "collateral damage" to others notwithstanding.

I hope Perry (and Perry would be my choice if I were the kingmaker) and either Santorum or Gingrich drop out. At this point, I would go as far as Ron Paul to stop Romney. It is already borderline over and if Romney gets the win in SC, it is certainly over. I know polls show Newt withing striking distance in SC, but Mitt is sure to get a bump from last night’s win and the media coverage plus all the pundits saying it is over. I would say Mitt’s true lead in SC, by the time this weekend gets here, will be around 20 points. Sorry, but 10 days isn’t enough time to overcome that, especially when swimming upstream against the media and Romney’s superPAC. The only road to defeating Romney is narrowing the field to one conservative.

"Santorum is as exciting as watching paint dry."

I beg to differ, you should watch Rick Santorum's victory speech in Iowa.

It was enough to convince me, and the substance of the speech was tremendous as well.

He was able to convince lots of Dems in Pennsylvania to support him, I see no reason that's not possible in the Presidential race.

..even though we are Santorum supporters here, and I expected the attacks on Newt by the establishment GOP, but I can't understand Rush and others simplistically going after him for "attacking capitalism"

Maybe I have the history wrong, but didn't somebody else very famous go after the dark side of unfettered capitalism and robber barons--someone named Theodore Roosevelt?

Hannity said he hopes he drops the Bain attacks as well coming into SC. Supposedly, he told Hannity he is only doing it to slow Romney down but at this point, it is making people uncomfortable. Not sure what the speech will be about at 9am.

It appears NH voting included 50 percent Dems voting to screw up
The GOP primary .
Paul and Huntsman was all from the Left and a large chunk of Mittens too .
Be warned SC is an open primary too !
Paul entire in IA was from the radical left too.
This entire Leftist storm troopers are supporting the Marxist !

Rush is right, Newt was attacking Mitt from the left, in my opinion to run interference for Huntsman and try to get a surprise showing out of Jon in NH, thus weakening Romney. I would still pick Newt over Mitt anyday, but I don’t see anything wrong with Rush’s analysis, other than the fact that I come to a different conclusion on his motives. We will see if the Bain attacks continue in SC, but if the attacks end, I would bet my house that the motive was to run interference for Huntsman. Otherwise, why would Newt have even campaigned in NH? He had no chance or need to spend the money and resources.

SC is an open primary, but there aren’t enough white liberals in SC to make much of a difference. I just don’t see the blacks being motivated to pour in to sabotage a GOP primary and the few white libs that do crossover will likely just be Paul supporters in Clemson and Colombia.
