From a predictive stance, he’s probably right. Gingrich, Santorum, and to a lesser extent, Perry, will split enough votes for Romney to win, or at least come very close.

At least one of those three should drop out after SC, and another by the time FL is over. By that point, it should be clear who actually has a chance of running a winning campaign, and they need to unite or let Romney’s strategy of victory via fragmentation to succeed.

Totally agree. I have the utmost respect for DeMint, and he was right in his prediction. As long as the conservative vote is split, Romney will win in every state.

It was shocking that the conservative vote in NH only totaled 22%. If we can only garner 22% of the vote, then we are never going to take over the republican party.

I am glad DeMint is focused on winning the Senate.

It is a sad comment on our times, but Romney ‘looks’ presidential. DeMint knows that ‘look’ will help him win the Senate.

DeMint is the most authentic conservative office holder on the national scene. How can you berate a guy for stating the obvious in a splintered conservative field?

I’m not a Carolinian. I’ve just always liked and respected the guy. Wish he was running for president.
