Jim DeMint gave a "non-endorsement" ENDORSEMENT, walking through an open door to speak euphemistically about Willard and curry favor with him, without (he thinks) frosting the conservatives too badly.

Sorry, Governor, we noticed.

Unfortunately, Rush Limbaugh just walked through the same open door and blistered the conservatives, benefitting Willard. Wonder how close Rush will get to "non-endorsement endorsing" Rictus Romney?

No Jim, it's because South Carolina has an open primary in a year when the Democrats have an incumbent, and will be gladly crossing over to vote for Willard in the Republican primary.

Supporting a liberal just because they have an (R) next to their name is still supporting a liberal. The only difference between liberals with (R) next to their name and a (D) next to their name is how fast they want to take us down the road to socialism.

I will not vote for Willard if he gets the nomination. I will vote third party or write in a candidate.

I'm done voting for liberals pretending to be Republicans.

I live in SC and alot of people down here have started believing Romney is the only person that can beat Obama. We are constantly bombarded with this nonsense on Fox News and the other liberal stations.

Then these people weren't Conservatives to begin with, especially if they are letting the MSM dictate their choices. Romney has the advantage of SC being an open primary and the Democrats will cross over for him, but anybody who votes for him in a primary or in the general election if, God forbid, he wins the nomination, is not a true Conservative.

Romney came in 4th in S.C. during the 2008 primary. The numbers were:

John McCain 147,733 33.15% 18
Mike Huckabee 132,990 29.84% 6
Fred Thompson 69,681 15.63% 0

This is a key factor. Such criticism has achieved the unlikely result of uniting key free market conservatives in defense of Romney just as the campaign enters a crucial phase. It was not the brightest strategical move on the part of his opponents.

As I understand it, Mr. Romney's company would buy companies so as to break them up and sell the pieces off for a profit, similar to what the fictional character Gordon Gekko did in Wall Street.

Loosing sucks but the Tea Party lost. They put all their wood behind 5 weak arrows. With 60+% of the vote, fail. Fact is that the Tea Party may have the passion but as far as electoral acumen, we’re newbies on average. At the end of the day to make real change, the TP needs to influence 4-6 electoral cycles and change the core nature of the republican party at the local, state, and national levels. The presidency appears to be a bridge too far this cycle. Basic choice for conservatives is stay home or suck it up and make the best of it.

Yeah but it didn't have to be this way. Obama is very beatable but the inside the beltway elite is not ready to give up their life style...

So after Obama is reelected in 2012 you will see the rise of the Tea Party.

The reason being is that the Republicans are not a real opposition party to the Democrats.

Oh I would not be surprised if you see a third Party this election. Possible candidates Ron Paul, Donald Trump, Sarah Palin and even Jessie Venture. I know it sounds like a cast of characters, but I would not be surprised if any of them went Tea Party.

It didn’t have to be this way if suddenly people just decided to lie down and give up their vested interest without a fight. However I see no reason why the party establishment would just lay down for the Tea Party. It’s a right of passage and if the Tea Party doesn’t earn it - they don’t deserve it. IMO, the Tea Party and conservatives in general played this hand very badly. There are too many choices and ALL of them deeply flawed. IMO, the TP should focus strictly on trying to send as many conservatives to congress as possible for 6 cycles before expecting fundamental change. We need at least 35-40 TP senators and 55-60 Republican ones. Same mix in the house. THEN we can count on having a congress that stiffens a president’s spine.

Now that DeMint has declared that Romney will win South Carolina, pissant should be pleased. He always liked DeMint, who endorsed Romney in 2008.

In 2010, OR had a legislature where the ‘Rats had a super majority. In early 2011, it was so split that there are co-chairmen on each committee. Heh...there are committees who adjourned early because the two sides couldn’t be put in the same room together! lol

The results weren’t as good as in so many other state legislatures, but that is mighty fine for Oregon.

It’s going to be better this year.

Finally, even Oregon is being run more conservatively, now. I never thought I would see the day!
