Ron Paul, one of the candidates vying for the Republican Party's presidential nomination, has met a representative from the extremist anti-Zionist group Neturei Karta.
Mr Paul, who has drawn criticism for a catalogue of controversial remarks about Israel and the Holocaust as well as race and homosexuality, shook hands with Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss at an event in New Hampshire.
The Monsey rabbi, whose grandparents died in Auschwitz, has previously met Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at a conference questioning the Holocaust.
The controversial sect, rejected by almost every other part of the Jewish community, was founded in Jerusalem in 1938 in order to fight Zionism and has actively championed Israel's enemies ever since. One Neturei Karta member, Rabbi Moshe Hirsch, even served as Minister for Jewish Affairs in Yasir Arafat's Palestinian administration.
During the conversation Rabbi Weiss said that Judaism was a religion and "should never be transformed into a nationalism".
Mr Paul, who is staunchly against US aid to Israel, responded by saying that the suggestion was "good advice".
Mr Paul, a libertarian darling, came third in the Iowa caucus last week and is hoping to repeat his success at today's New Hampshire primary. Despite his popularity, experts have said it is unlikely he will win the nomination. The Republican Jewish Coalition banned Mr Paul from taking part in a recent Washington DC panel event with other presidential hopefuls, on the grounds that he was too far "outside of the mainstream".
Holocaust denier. Oh great.
This is a case of RuPaul meeting Rabid Rabbi. Or in plain English, nut meets nut. Iran approves. Chavez approves. Putin approves. Red Chinese approve and donate one egg roll.

Ron Paul is scary. Jews who subscribe to this wacky thinking are even scarier. Someone ought to remind him what happened to his people when there was no Jewish state, except he knows that all too well when those people included his own grandparents. Is he actually denying the Holocaust when his own family perished in it? No doubt Paul will use such support as validation, just as Iamanutjob in Iran has done. Just great.
On another note, it does bother me when Holocaust denial and racism are equated with criticism of certain categories of voluntary sexual behavior, but that's just me.
I agree, like calling a President, whether Bush or Barry, Hitler. Mainstreams evil. Not many will agree, it's fun. In fairness, the article does collect these things in a group of controversial remarks, which is legitimate but probably lost. And I'm not aware of Paul making controversial remarks about the Holocaust. His business associates and supporters, sure, the most prominent Holocaust deniers of the 20th century, but the author didn't make that distinction.

You mean "voluntary sexual activities" that are capital offenses under Torah (and Noachide) law?
I have a copy of Rabbi Abraham Chill's The Mitzvot. It contains several entries on forbidden sexual activity but not one word about "racism"--or even Holocaust denial, for that matter.
So Paul has met with Iranian agents.
“Rabbi” Weiss is not a Holocaust Denier. He is simply a heretic who put a Roman-imposed Talmudic ruling ahead of the Torah, and whose heresy lead him to prostitute himself to Arafat and Ahmadinejad.A few years ago, a Beit Din (Jewish law court) came within one vote of excommunicating NK because of this monetary support from Jew killers.
