After another vibrating nightmare in a box, they wind up at Safeway or some such, where they get wrestled around into a bag in the back of somebody's car left in a parking lot. No water, and then into a refrigerator to die yet MORE slowly, either to be eaten or rot.
The lucky ones get a final death when you dose them with suffocating oil and crush them between your teeth, one cell at a time.
Lest you forget, most plant nursery sterile micropropagation is done with slips of plant material smaller than you would put on a fork. Every one of those bits is capable of being nurtured into a mature plant, finally capable of expressing its life's purpose to flower and to seed, but no!!!!
Instead they wind up swirling down the porcelain bus to end up in a chemical treatment plant, the final legacy of a life of abuse.
if somebody forgets they're there. They just rot, and end up buried so far in a dump that they won't even become useful dirt. The best fate they could get at that point is to be eaten by worms.
Have you no sensitivity? Have you no compassion? At least Christians say a prayer over them... while we eat our steak.
At least I have the decency to kill my food before I eat it.
Thanks for that, Carry_Okie!
In March, I'll be doing some wildlife field work with an off-the-charts vegan militant. Seriously, I think he has some form of obsessive/compulsive disorder. We once went to a Del Taco and he ordered some sort burrito that he thought would be vegan. After getting it, he opened up the torilla flaps and spent about five minutes studiously examining every rice grain in the burrito -- just in case one of those rice grains happened to be a grain of dastardly cheese! I just rolled my eyes and scarfed down my beef tacos.
I can't wait to bring up the "torture" of plants to him the next time we get food. Should be a lot of fun!
All the best!
