Gingrich answers Rush Limbaugh
The Hill ^ | 1/10/2012 | Christian Heinze

On Fox & Friends this morning, Newt Gingrich fought back against Rush Limbaugh's criticism of his rhetoric on Bain Capital.

FOX HOST STEVE DOOCY: I was driving around yesterday in my car, and I was listening to Rush Limbaugh, and he was talking about you and how you're going after Mitt Romney and Bain Capital.

And he said that you're using the language of the Left to beat up on Romney over Bain.

He said it makes him uncomfortable because that's what the Left will do if Romney is the nominee.

GINGRICH: Well, I don't think I'm using the language of the Left. I'm using the language of classic American populism.

Main Street has always been suspicious of Wall Street, small businesses have always worried about big businesses.... and I think people have a natural concern when they see financiers come in from out of town, take over a company, take all the profits, and then leave people who are unemployed behind.

>>>you support a government fairness program.

I am not on that page. Newt said most of Romney’s dealings with the company look fine though there was one aspect of the company that had some questions which should be addressed. He was not trying to change the views of a free market system. He was telling the voter that this would come up. Today, Ruch went overboard by the end of the day. IMO.

” In a race with 4 solid conservatives, to end up with Newt is like winning the booby prize.”

Four? Where are they? Santorum”, Perry?, Paul? ????

I understand one of the companies that was deep sixed was in deep trouble when Bain took it over. Their Steelworker union was a major player in the downfall.The mill was built in the late 1800’s and the union played hard ball and wouldn't let the company modernize or even try to become more efficient. Typical union stuff.

All of those old steel mills have expired, unable to compete with the newer mills established after WWII in the US and Europe.

What Bain did is how you describe Capitalism.

I do not favor Romney, but conservatives cannot fault him on this,

Go Perry!!!!

Now, don’t get mad at me pls, I don’t want to see any of our candidates implode or anything like that. What I want to see is them attack our communist president.

What we have now is a circular firing squad that is going to leave our candidates politically dead.

)))

If I’m not mistaken, Newt tried that route before Iowa and was nuclear-bombed by Mitt.

What- are you afraid more people will see Newt for the slimeball he is and not vote for him? He and Romney both are poison and the sooner Conservatives get a clue about that, the sooner we can figure out how to actually turn this nation back in the RIGHT direction. Neither Newt or Mitt are the right candidate for that job.

At least we kept Romney from being nominated in 2008, let us pray that we can do the same this time.

Hmmm, I think that’s what a paycheck is called.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
wow
Someone needs to look up “profit”. Wages are paid regardless if profit is made or not. If a company loses money, they still have to pay their workers. So why the f* (you damn fool) should a company be expected to SHARE profit to wage earners when profit is earned?
I think the state of capitalism has to be addressed for a number of reasons.
First, the ones manipulating and walking away with other people’s money hit the US Treasury when their mortgage scam blew up. Second, a new cleaning crew hit the treasury in the name of alternative energy. It seems they are above the rule of law and can get away with pulling off economy busting loan scam in cahoots with corrupt politicans.
This is not US capitalism and these elitist mistake themselves as being above the constiution and rule of law. It is something out of the third world.
I have listened and appreciated Rush for years, but this time I turned him off and I am not likely to listen again for a while. He is way off base on this one. And anyone defending coporate raiders do not have any experience with them. And by the way, you don’t want to. If it becomes your company and your job, you will sing another tune. Especially if the company you work for is doing well, and all they want is your pension.
He thinks business should share their profits with their workers, not the investors and stockholders.
Isn't that what corporate success sharing and stock matching programs do?
Those can co-exist with stock dividend payments, can't they?
It is painful to see the chance for possibly a truly great president to be squandered. Rush not only compared Newt to the left, but Obama and Chuck Schumer as well.
Rush is Not right.
Oh and btw, is Romney Glenn Beck’s George Washington? For the longest time he talked and wrote about finding or being George Washington. Now he’s in it for Mitt. Maybe he is looking forward to a Presidential Magic Underwear party.
Until this, I had planned on voting for Newt. Not that it’s relevant. I will continue to defend what I think is a completely foolish and unwarranted attack on capitalism for short term political gain that only can only benefit the left over time.
I think this post puts it in a nutshell.
Are we going to elect a Gordon Gecko or a Sam Walton?
Rush is wrong ofter, although he’ll leave you to believe that he’s right 99.9% of the time. I has no interest in endorsing anyone, and the fact that without knowing anything about Romney’s role at Bain, he criticize Newt.
Is Rush that naive that he doesn’t understand that Obama see Romney as the weaker candidate because of this issue?
Let Romney get vetted now. Maybe it will cause Newt’s demise, but Newt is right.
The Republican establishment is making a big mistake pushing Romney. He will not appeal to independents. I’m an independent - liberal on some issues, conservative on others - but looking for an alternative to Obama. And I WILL NOT vote for Romney, even if he’s the nominee. I’m sure there are others like me who can not stand robot-head.
Rush was wrong to say anyone would be beat Obama in a landslide.
How is that going to help us in the election? It is NOT going to be a landslide. And his laughing at this Bain stuff today is disgusting.
I’m a 24/7 member and I’m going to ask for my money back. i am NOT happy with his services lately so I want to FIRE him. How will he respond?
I think Rush is back on his pills lately.
