Yes another Gallup poll. They called 150 telephones in Newark, New Jersey and another 150 in New York City so they could be sure to get a fair sampling of registered “conservatives” into the mix. I especially like the part where it says liberal Republicans and conservatives alike agree on Romney. It must have been McCain’s and Bush Sr.’s endorsements that did the trick.

Easy. The "registered republicans" contacted by Gallup are themselves the source of the label "conservative" as are the "republican leaning independents". Any of them can claim it.

The idea that the paltry number (479) of respondents of "republicans and republican leaning independents" is a valid poll is ridiculous.

They are used EFFECTIVELY to sway the vote, but just think 479 out of how many? ... and what version of the Gospel to these use to self identify?

Stop using the polls as a gauge for ANYTHING, unless it is reflective of tens of thousands who really are legitimate voters!

The large polls, like the online Facebook, Twitter, AFA, Catholic's Online, Mark Levin, etc., etc., show a very different set of numbers.

I don’t see how this poll is necessarily wrong. Outside of rabid rightwingism (us Freepers, et al), the rest of Conservativism is probably resigned to the idea that Romney will be the nominee. They find him preferable to Obama. Whats the surprise.
