Since it is the President is the Commander and Chief of the military, I agree with Paul in the case of the President, only. Our Presidents should have military experience. Had we respected that qualifing standard, we would not have the vapid anti-American Muslim in the White House who has mandated homosexuality on the military.

What the Paulestians say could be turned around and said about Paul. Those who have been warriors have no right to shout down the military and claim to be peaceful. It is mindless sloganeering of leftists that Paul’s supporters engage in. In the name of being anti-war, they make pets out of America’s most ravishing enemies.

They pretend Mulsims are innocent when they have been conducting terrorism against the US for decades before 911. They also pretend Islam are not the enemy and to be cagey, they advocate for the government to target other Americans as domestic terrorists so as not to discriminate against their best pals, the Muslims. Which is funny, since Homeland inSecurity has expanded the meaning of domestic terrorist to target the Paulestians.

Would the founders ever have disagreed with you, they were big fans of civilian control of the military.

We'd rewrite our list of Presidents as

George Washington

John Adams

Thomas Jefferson

James Madison

James Monroe

John Quincy Adams

Andrew Jackson, finally, a true Democrat.

“Had we respected that qualifing standard, we would not have the vapid anti-American Muslim in the White House who has mandated homosexuality on the military.”

I don’t think that follows. And we have liberal generals like Powell and Clark who endorsed BHO.

Requiring military experience of the POTUS is too limiting and can rule out some good leaders who nonetheless revere our military and, unlike BHO, would value the advice of their generals.

Ron Paul is sneaky and mean. It’s my understanding he never saw combat, but he got his medical schooling free via the military. He loves to mislead people saying they “overwhelmingly” support him, but I’ve heard from (and read) MANY military who do NOT.
