Here we go. Romney has not yet been hit hard with the “Wall Street elitist” line of attack, in part because Republicans know that its wrong to attack successful capitalists. But he better get a good answer to questions about his wealth and his time at Bain Capital. Trying to portray himself as an ordinary guy like this is nonsense.

He needs to step up to the plate and say “Yes, I am rich, and I got rich building companies at Bain Capital. I took companies that were about to go bankrupt and turned them around. Were there failures? Yes. Did some companies still go bankrupt and people got put out of work? Yes. Did I make mistakes? Yes. But for the most part, I created a Hell of a lot of jobs and creates a number of stable companies out of bankrupt messes that I bought.”

I'm no Romney supporter either. I just hate these attacks on him based on the fact that he was a successful private equity manager. They are wrong and people who make the arguments are showing their ignorance of how a market economy works.

Exactly. I had to hand out pink slips for economic reasons as a factory foreman and I've gotten a few myself over the years.

He better also get advertising and testimonials from people whose companies and jobs were saved by Bain because Obama is already finding everyone who was ever laid off after Bain took over. Even if they were going to be laid off the week Bain took over and the take over extended their jobs six months, Obama will lay it all in Romney's lap.

I think it was picked up by Chrissy Matthews yesterday when Romney said his father told him, if you can’t pay your bills, then don’t run for office... meaning? That only the rich should run for office.

They guy was flusterred yesterday. You could see the mask come off. He looked silly.

[I took companies that were about to go bankrupt and turned them around. ]

WSJ front page today analyses Romney’s Bain record, success came from relatively few transactions. A lot of crash and burns with lost jobs.

I’m a small business capitalist and have been around some rough and dirty. There is a fine line between venture and vulture capitalist, Romney might have some ‘splaining to do.
