I haven't been a big "R" Republican since 1998, but have still, if nothing else, found myself voting for their candidates. One of the reasons I left the party was their skewed primary process, where only after three or four states vote or caucus, in open forums, a 25 percenter can capture the nomination by sucking the wind and most importantly the money out of the other contenders.
I hope the rank and file of the GOP can coalesce around one of the two you mentioned or even Rick Perry. All would be much better than Romney, the one candidate that I will find myself on the golf course in November rather than the voting both.

There is only one way to restore sanity too the GOP primaries. Yes they need to be closed but here is another solution needing too be added to that. Establish a national Republican primary day say like first Tuesday in May. This gives all running a decent chance and a better odds of a good candidate the party can unite behind. I'm sick and tired of about four states deciding who is the choice before spring. This would also make the campaigns start much later. Something I think all of us would welcome.
