Lest you doubt that we're headed for the most vicious election year in memory, consider the determined effort, within 10 minutes of his triumph in Iowa, to weirdify Rick Santorum. Discussing the surging senator on Fox News, Alan Colmes mused on some of the "crazy things" he's said and done.
Santorum has certainly said and done many crazy things, as have most members of America's political class, but the "crazy thing" Colmes chose to focus on was Santorum's "taking his two-hour-old baby when it died right after childbirth home," whereupon he "played with it." My National Review colleague Rich Lowry rightly slapped down Alan on air, and Colmes subsequently apologized, though not before Mrs. Santorum had been reduced to tears by his remarks. Undeterred, Eugene Robinson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post columnist, doubled down on stupid and insisted that Deadbabygate demonstrated how Santorum is "not a little weird, he's really weird."
The short life of Gabriel Santorum would seem a curious priority for political discourse at a time when the Brokest Nation in History is hurtling toward its rendezvous with destiny. But needs must, and victory by any means necessary. In 2008, the Left gleefully mocked Sarah Palin's live baby. It was only a matter of time before they moved on to a dead one.
Not many of us will ever know what it's like to have a child who lives only a few hours. That alone should occasion a certain modesty about presuming to know what are "weird" and unweird reactions to such an event...

How can we clone Steyn to replace pseudo conservatives Coulter, Parker, Krauthammer, Will, Kristol, Frum, Brooks, et al.?
Steyn is one of the few columnists who doesn’t portray mainstream conservatives as extremists. And last I checked, he’s one of the few that hasn’t surgically attached his lips to Romney’s back side either.
FOX must fire Colmes immediately, if not sooner. There is no “apology” he could give that would be acceptable.
Remember, when scum like Colmes accuse others of doing something, it is because they have done it or want to do it. Projection!

I used to watch Hannity and Colmes, and finally had to stop for one very specific reason.
Whenever Alan Colmes asks some really nauseating question, he looks like he’s about to break and run for it before someone smacks him. He looks at the camera (if the guest is remote) and gets this kind of shaky “I can say anything I want, the teacher is watching, so you have to take it!” look on his smug face.
He’s a disgusting pig and when I heard this latest piece of filth out of his dumbass mouth I wanted to sock him.
He is a contemptuous lugworm who should crawl under a rock.
But I'm sure the Left considers him just as much an extremist as any other conservative, maybe more so because of his articulateness.
Thirty years ago I lost my two year old little boy. It still hurts. There are no words to express the contempt I feel for Alan Colmes.

Surely, Alan Colmes, when the time comes, will tremble in cowardly fear as he awaits the doors to hell to open for him to join the evil that is there.
Eugene Robinson is JUST as CONTEMPTIBLE and VILE as Alan Colmes.

In 2008, the left mocked Trig Palin and — on the way out of town after the election — set fire to the Palin family`s church, attempting to murder the congregants inside at the time.
Fast forward to 2012, and the left has:
*$1B in campaign funds
* Legions of union thugs thirsting for a jihad to take “us sons of bitches out”
*OWS mobs doing Election Day disruption test runs in most of the major cities
*No compunction at all about mocking the Santorums and their deceased baby son, and
* “Media” aiding and abetting the whole evil enterprise through agitprop.
The dark side will stop at nothing to retain power and this is going to be very, very ugly.
Oh, they`re quite proud of it. This doesn`t bother them in the least.
Me too.. especially when he sat back in that chair with that smug look of evil satisfaction.
Having gone through the life-altering, heart-crushing experience of having lost an infant son myself (SIDS, 1980), I wanted to jump through that effing TV screen and repeatedly smash my fist through Colmes` face.
Absolutely anything goes with the leftists as long as they think they are scoring cheap political points. Alan needs to be quarantined over to MSNBC where he belongs. He's stunk up Fox news far too long.
