I don't like to see the way conservative candidates allow themselves to get roped into taking stands on social issues by the liberals that have little or nothing to do with the presidency.

With respect to abortion, homosexual marriage, birth control, etc., these are all issues a president should have little involvement with anyhow.

The perfect stand for a conservative presidential candidate to take on these issues is that his private opinion is irrelevant and that the states should decide on those issues.

Throw it back on the states and let the American people know that if you get elected president, you are going to focus on the economy, foreign affairs and getting the federal government out of the way so that businesses and American people can prosper. The federal government should have nothing to do with getting involved in social issues.

.I agree with everything you wrote. It is not the federal gov responsibility and it is unfortunate that conservatives don’t take away liberals biggest weapon. Have a good day.
