Caucus Vote Counter Says Romney Mistakenly Given 20 Votes
(Video report at link)
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Caucus night was chaotic in many places, with hundreds of voters, candidates showing up and the throngs of media who followed. The world's eyes were on Iowa. But in the quiet town of Moulton, Appanoose County, a caucus of 50 people may just blow up the results.
Edward True, 28, of Moulton, said he helped count the votes and jotted the results down on a piece of paper to post to his Facebook page. He said when he checked to make sure the Republican Party of Iowa got the count right, he said he was shocked to find they hadn't.
"When Mitt Romney won Iowa by eight votes and I've got a 20-vote discrepancy here, that right there says Rick Santorum won Iowa," True said. "Not Mitt Romney."

The caucuses had a presidential preference straw vote. The winner gets nothing from the Iowa Republican Party and the losers lose nothing.
Delegates to Iowa’s next level can not be committed to any candidate, as per national GOP rules. Iowa’s Republican National Convention delegates are not chosen until the middle of June.
I am aware of another mistake that caused the local press to be given the wrong numbers and caused the local press to report the wrong winner. The numbers that went to the party were, however correct. Stuff happens, especially when the numbers are so close.
Romney appears to have CREATED fake votes and removed
other votes.
Team Romney is the MOST VICIOUS group of pseudoconservatives
that has ever existed.
They go after women, children, GOP candidates,
and all on the sly, like the DNC.
DISGUSTING, Mitt.
Oooh,no-—leave that photo alone.
It is a classic. I was in high school when that upset occurred-——it was quite a day.
The winner of the Iowa caucus straw vote is awarded no delegates.
When Iowa chooses it’s national convention delegates in the middle of June, it’s likely the candidate will be already known. If not, Party regulars will mostly support Romney, regardless of caucus straw vote outcome.
Hope this shows up on the Drudge Report...
I agree, this would be a result bigger than it seems, not big in changing anything much or in the big picture, but much more annoying to the media and Romney than it might appear at first look.
Just imagine that the reversal hit one our own personal favorites, it would be annoying as heck to have to endure it.
I also think that Romney has a faint stench of loser about him which he has been covering for his entire life, in a national political race small things could eventually cement that suspicion among the general public, I think people were picking up on it in 2008.
Yep, if it turned out Santorum indeed won, the story will be buried. So most people will still believe that Mitt won.
Breaking News:
Santorum now up 12 but Rove just found 13 more Willard votes in Branstad’s glove compartment moments ago.
Willard wins by ONE, the Iowan establishment immediately reports. : (
j/k
On Wed. RCP carried an Iowa delegate allocation, giving Mitt 13, Rick 12, and the rest 0.
Everyone e-mail Drudge.
Interesting!
RCP doesn’t know what it’s talking about.
Forgive me, but if Iowa can not count accurately enough in a damned Caucus, it is no stretch to figure out that the DEMS are going to steal another election by their ability to do “creative math” in the General election.
Forgive me for being harsh...but for Christ sake, if you can not count and tally votes accurately........FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN!
I’m not surprised at all. And for bragging rights and Mitt’s cause it does matter.
lol

I’ve always pictured him as the type of LDS missionary who never had any baptism’s but would brag about how many he had.
BTTT
It will give Rick a boost into NH and SC...
