Assigning distinctions and discerning differences is a natural and thoroughly human activity, unlike the modernist lie that we’re all the same or potentially so, and that categories are hateful and arbitrary constructs.

Yes, but if you wandered into the wrong place, you'd be struck dead by The Lord! On Yom Kippur, the one day where the High Priest was allowed to enter the "Holy of Holys," the priest was bound with a line, in order for the body to be recovered should he screw up. An example being the sons of Aaron.

On the other hand, Jordanians knew fully well that the Western Wall was a Jewish holy site, and refused entrance to Jews. Going back even further, to the British occupation, the public blowing of a Shofar on the High Holy Days was a capital offense.
