“Recall” is a misleading term. They have service calls — you take the car to the shop, usually during a regular service, and while there they perform the “recall”.

And yes, there have been several. None serious enough to require immediate attention, in my mind. The most publicized was the one where the gas pedal mechanism could get sticky, which they fixed by adding a washer to one of the pin joints.

The 1st generation prius had a couple of recalls on their power steering, which was a novel electric-motor device that apparently wasn’t entirely thought through.
