What a stupid article. I worship Reagan just as much as anyone else yet Reagan did some very un-conservative things at times. In particular, he supported amnesty. When it comes to cutting back government, though, no one can match Reagan. Especially not Santorum, whose book is filled with big government, Compassionate Conservative solutions to issues.

I watched and heard this....Santorum did not 'attack' Reagan.....

..for goodness sakes, he aligns himself with Reagan, calls himself a Reagan conservative...

..He simply stated, during the course of a question put to him about social security...... how Reagan passed a bill that is just now, 20 years later, coming to fruition.....and it has a differnt outcome for folks now....

It was not an attack!

THe place was packed out.....the questions were really intense, but the crowd was with him.........

..and he attempted to answer ....and answer well....all the questions put to him.

This is a poor analysis by Santorum. I was very aware of the deal that took place. I knew that my eligibility for social security benefits would be delayed till age 67. The way it was done, gave me 30 years to prepare by saving money to go a head and retire at age 65 if I wanted to.

I was also very aware of the increase in taxes that took place. Congress is the culprit. They have had almost 30 years to implement reforms. Like always, they wait till we are on the edge of a cliff before they even think about acting.

The President makes a terrific scape goat for Congress. They get to blame everything on him. Congress is supposed to pass the legislation, and the President's administration is supposed to implement it. Congress Critters dodge their responsibility so they can get re-elected. JMO.

The Blaze and a host of others have now picked up on this:

I thought the Daily Caller was conservative. I’m reading more than one strange story from that website lately.

Reagan made mistakes, and generally owned up to them. Bbut he made lots of good calls to outweigh them.

Reagan's worst action as President by far was his disgraceful, America-destroying amnesty. And it should be denounced endlessly until everyone in the GOP gets it.

But that is besides the point. Santorum wasn't bashing Reagan, and RR wasn't alone in kicking the can down the road, nor was he the last. This is obvious propaganda from the Mittens-pimps at The DC. And it is hilarious when you consider the RINO douchebag's desperate pleading to Ted Kennedy in 1994 that "I don't want to go back to Reagan-Bush!"

For more than 4 years Mitt Romney has been pushing into the public's image of Reagan, That "REAGAN WAS ADAMANTLY PRO-CHOICE".
